The Aramco hiring process at a glance
- 1Application and CV screening — Apply via the Aramco careers portal or Talent Community; status moves to application forwarded to the hiring organisation.
- 2Initial assessment (role-dependent) — Officially technical, analytical aptitude and/or behavioural evaluations, required only for some roles.
- 3One-way video interview on HireVue — Pre-recorded round arranged by HR after selection for interview; one candidate reports five questions, another reports background and competency questions.
- 4Live interview, also on HireVue — Separate live online round on the same platform, reported by one candidate as a few weeks after the recording.
- 5Panel round, then offer and conditions — In-person technical or safety panels where feasible; roughly two weeks to document request, then a conditional offer subject to medical and background checks.

Take the Aramco mock interviewHow the Aramco hiring process works
The Aramco hiring process starts with an application through the careers portal, where you select a position and upload a CV, or join the Talent Community to be matched to future openings. Candidates track progress through portal status strings, which move from submission to a message confirming the application has been forwarded to the hiring organisation. For some roles — Aramco says this is role-dependent rather than universal — an initial assessment follows, which the company describes as technical, analytical aptitude and/or behavioural evaluations, with the talent acquisition team contacting you to initiate it. Aramco Americas separately runs a preliminary phone screen with a recruiter to discuss the position; whether that phone screen and the video round are sequential or alternatives is not established.
The one-way stage arrives after you are marked as selected for interview. Rather than a self-serve invite link, HR appears to reach out and arrange the recording session, which is consistent across the reports available. Content varies sharply by role family: one candidate for a US Loss Prevention position describes five quick questions revolving around personal safety and process safety, while one candidate for a Systems Analyst role describes a recorded HireVue interview covering background, competencies, academic major and senior project, rating it easy, personal and non-technical. That contrast is the most useful planning signal in the record — the graduate-facing Aramco video interview is competency and background based, while safety and operations pipelines pull heavily on domain safety knowledge. Aramco has never published its own question counts, prep time, answer time, completion deadline, or whether re-records are permitted, so treat any specific timing you see elsewhere as a generic HireVue platform default rather than an Aramco commitment, and check your own invitation email for the configured values.
What distinguishes Aramco from most HireVue employers is that the same platform carries a second, live round. One candidate reports being told a few weeks after the recording that they had been selected for a live online interview, delivered through a HireVue link. Officially, Aramco frames video interviews as the substitute when on-site interviews are not practical, and notes these may also contain technical questions — so the live HireVue round should be prepared for as a real interview with technical content, not as a formality after the recording. The tenant runs on HireVue's EU production infrastructure, which is consistent with European and international hiring flows rather than a US-only deployment, though this is an infrastructure observation rather than a stated policy.
Later stages move offline where feasible. Candidates describe travelling to Houston for an in-person technical panel of four in Loss Prevention, and elsewhere report safety-department panels of around five people running roughly an hour, sometimes including directors or vice presidents. After the panel, one account describes a post-interview hold of about two weeks before HR requested documents, then a portal status indicating the company would be in touch to discuss an offer. Aramco states that a successful interview may result in a conditional offer and that timing of offers and next steps varies by department and position. Conditions include medical examinations, background investigations and, for relocating hires, housing confirmation and school enrolment for dependent children, followed by a relocation advisor for visa and transition support and an orientation offered weekly either virtually or on site. Aggregate candidate data puts the end-to-end process at roughly two to three months, which is consistent with the dated first-hand account.

Best-supported scope: Experienced-hire and international pipelines at Saudi Aramco, plus the US arm Aramco Americas, where a pre-recorded HireVue round sits between CV screening and a live interview. One graduate-flavoured report (Systems Analyst) extends this to near-campus hiring. Not established for the Saudi-national early-career programmes, which official pages describe as gated by a screening test with no video stage mentioned.
