Choose a one-minute drill

Practice one task at a time using a physical keyboard. Review your entries and mistakes after the timer ends.

Choose a longer practice test

Choose the task and duration that fit your preparation. Results stay hidden until the whole selected test ends.

One Typing & Data Entry pass covers every longer test and all drill replays. If your account includes free first attempts, you can try each short drill once.

See what slowed you down

Review missed characters, mismatched fields and record-checking errors. Compare your accuracy and output across attempts to see whether a faster result is also a better one.

Understand your results

Practice the format in your invitation

A passage-copying test, numeric keypad test and form-entry task measure different skills. Check your required duration, keyboard setup and accuracy rules before choosing your practice.

Preparing for a hiring assessment?

These employers describe typing as part of specific hiring processes. Your current invitation is the guide to your own test.

Common questions

What does this typing and data-entry practice include?

Six one-minute drills cover lowercase words, punctuation, numeric entry, alphanumeric entry, structured forms and record checking. Four longer tests cover six one-minute typing passages, continuous five-minute typing, three-minute numeric entry, and an eight-minute combination of form entry and record checking. You type or compare actual records rather than answer questions about keyboard shortcuts.

Which keyboard should I practice with?

We recommend a computer with a physical keyboard for hiring-test preparation. A phone’s onscreen keyboard does not provide comparable keyboard practice. Use your intended layout. For a ten-key assessment, practice on a numeric keypad when your invitation requires one; the numeric top row and a keypad develop different habits.

Which practice attempts are free?

If your account includes free first attempts, you can try each short drill once. One Typing & Data Entry pass covers all four longer tests and every drill replay during your chosen period. Some accounts require a pass before scored practice. The public example and study guide are free, and saved results remain available after your pass expires.

Will I see mistakes while the timer is running?

Scored practice shows your source and your entry without live correctness highlights or a speed score. You can make corrections before submitting the active record. Review the result and errors after the drill or the whole selected test ends.

Is there one passing typing speed for every job?

No. Employers set their own speed, accuracy and sometimes certification requirements. A short perfect sample does not prove that you can maintain that performance for a longer test. Compare speed and accuracy together, and use your current invitation’s requirements.

Is this an official SHL, TestGorilla or Criteria test?

No. These are original practice tasks covering common hiring-test skills. Provider formats, time limits and scoring methods differ. The study guide compares relevant formats, but our results do not convert into an official vendor score or an employer pass prediction.

Can I use this result as a typing certificate?

No. This is self-administered practice, not an employer-accepted typing certificate. If a job requires a proctored test, an approved issuer or a particular test length, arrange that separately according to the employer’s instructions.

Are the names and records real?

No. The passages and business records are original practice content, and the supplied personal details are fictional. Copy the displayed practice data rather than entering your own contact information.

Original independent preparation. Not affiliated with or endorsed by SHL, Criteria, TestGorilla or the employers named. This practice does not issue a typing certificate or reproduce an employer’s complete assessment.
