Which ACCUPLACER tests do I need?
Your college chooses the tests it uses and its placement requirements. Check your invitation or college testing page before preparing. You may need one subject, several subjects, an essay, or a separate ESL test; there is no single compulsory five-test ACCUPLACER exam.
Is ACCUPLACER timed?
The core multiple-choice tests are generally untimed. Our Reading, Writing and math practice tests are untimed too. Institutions can set a WritePlacer essay time limit, so the essay workspace has an optional timer you can match to your instructions.
How does adaptive practice work?
Our full subject tests select original questions using your earlier answers, topic coverage and previously seen questions. Reading and Writing preserve related passage questions as groups. This is our practice selection method, not College Board’s calibrated test engine.
Can I go back to an earlier question?
Our full practice tests ask you to confirm each answer before continuing. Submitted answers are locked, as in the official adaptive multiple-choice delivery. You can review the questions, answers and explanations after finishing.
Can I use a calculator?
On the official math tests, an onscreen calculator is available only on selected questions. Our practice follows the same item-specific approach: a calculator appears only when the question permits it. Do not assume you can bring a personal calculator; check any approved accommodation with your test center.
What score do I need to pass?
For ordinary course placement, your college sets its own requirements. Official core scores run from 200 to 300 and are not percentages correct. Our results show practice accuracy, difficulty and topic performance; they do not estimate an official score or guarantee placement.
Is Writing the same as WritePlacer?
No. Writing is a 25-question multiple-choice test about revising passages and language conventions. WritePlacer is an essay. Our separate essay workspace includes original prompts, model essays, a self-review checklist and saved writing, without claiming to award an official essay score.
Does this cover ACCUPLACER ESL?
This product covers the five core Next-Generation tests and a standard WritePlacer practice workspace. ACCUPLACER ESL has separate Reading Skills, Language Use, Sentence Meaning, Listening and WritePlacer ESL assessments. Those are not included in these practice banks.
What does one pass include?
One ACCUPLACER pass covers all five full practice tests, drill and diagnostic replays, and the WritePlacer workspace. Accounts with free first attempts can try each short drill and the diagnostic once before paying for replays. Saved results and explanations remain available after a pass expires.
Original independent preparation for the core Next-Generation tests and standard WritePlacer. Not affiliated with College Board. Practice results are not official placement scores. Check the official test descriptions.
