The Aramco hiring process at a glance

  1. 1Application and route selection — Use the Saudi graduate, Saudi experienced or international route appropriate to your profile.
  2. 2Role-dependent assessment — Americas guidance allows initial assessments for some international roles; your invitation defines the requirement.Assessment evidence
  3. 3Interview — International guidance describes technical interviews; format and arrangements depend on the recruiting team.Interview practice
  4. 4Conditional offer and processing — For relocation to Saudi Arabia, employment conditions and travel preparation follow selection.

What to expect in the Aramco assessment

Official guidance supports role-dependent assessment categories, but does not identify a repeatable game format for these professional hiring routes.

Good to know: Choose specialist practice once you know the assessment type. Arithmetic, reasoning or recorded-answer exercises are optional general preparation, not confirmed stages for every Aramco candidate.

The Aramco video interview: researched questions

Our Aramco question set supports preparation for the video interview stages described in this guide. Each question is labeled by its evidence: officially published, candidate-reported, or a practice question written for this company or role. Use the timed mock to practice answering aloud.

  1. 1Aramco Americas (US-hired roles): expect a preliminary recruiter phone screen alongside the video stage, and a possible in-person technical panel in Houston.Officially published
  2. 2Tell us about your background, your competencies, your academic major, and your senior or final-year project.Reported by a candidate

Which Aramco roles and programs does this guide cover?

This guide primarily covers Saudi Aramco employment in Saudi Arabia. A regional office vacancy, apprenticeship or contractor qualification can have a different selection process.

Read your invitation against the actual employer, location and applicant category. Practice-site branding does not establish which assessment software your vacancy uses.

Saudi university graduates

The graduate route covers applicants with less than three years of work experience. It requires a full-time bachelor’s degree or higher. Published GPA minima are 2.0/4 or 3.0/5 for technical majors, and 2.5/4 or 3.5/5 for administrative majors, with equivalents recognized.

Saudi experienced applicants

The experienced page says more than three years of experience, but its qualifications say a minimum of three. At that boundary, follow the vacancy requirements and confirm the correct route.

International experienced recruitment

International recruitment generally seeks five to ten years of applicable experience. Specific vacancy requirements take priority. Candidates enter through Americas or Africa, Asia Pacific and Europe routes.

High-school apprenticeship is a separate route

APNE trains Saudi high-school graduates and explicitly includes English and mathematics screening. Those tests are not automatically requirements for university graduates or international professionals.

How does the Aramco assessment work?

Some initial assessments are confirmed

Official source

The Americas recruitment overview says initial evaluations may cover technical knowledge, analytical aptitude and/or behavior for some roles. It does not say every applicant receives all three.

Technical representatives conduct international interviews

Official source

The international hiring page describes interviews with technical representatives, held at an office, recruitment event or remotely. It does not identify video software.

Graduate engineering documentation matters

Official source

The graduate page requires engineering applicants to register with the Saudi Council of Engineers, obtain the relevant professional accreditation and attach required documents. Eligibility preparation is distinct from test preparation.

Graduate test details remain unspecified

No evidence found

The reviewed graduate careers page does not identify a current common test battery, duration, passing score or supplier. Unpublished details do not mean assessments are never used.

What happens in the Aramco hiring process?

International recruitment through the Americas

The Americas recruitment overview provides additional detail for experienced candidates seeking Saudi Arabia-based employment.

  1. 1Submit a vacancy-matched résumé. If an initial assessment is needed, the talent team initiates it.
  2. 2A preliminary phone conversation can cover interest and qualifications, followed by an on-site interview or video alternative. Technical problem-solving is central; behavioral evaluation may also be included.
  3. 3The recruiter supplies the interview arrangements. This published outline does not fix a number of interview rounds.

Conditional offer, relocation and arrival

The global international process continues beyond the selection decision.

  1. 1A written conditional offer sets out the compensation package and conditions of employment.
  2. 2Processing covers medical and background checks, immigration arrangements and relevant dependent-school requirements. A relocation adviser helps coordinate the move.
  3. 3Pre-departure orientation prepares the new hire and family for life in Saudi Arabia; arrival support and local orientation follow.

How to prepare for the Aramco assessment process

These practice recommendations are discipline-specific preparation, not predicted interview questions.

1. Translate your experience into technical evidence

Choose two projects related to the vacancy. Explain the problem, calculations or design choices, constraints, your personal contribution and the measured result. Revisit assumptions so you can explain why your solution was appropriate.

2. Rehearse a structured technical explanation

Practice describing a fault, investigation or design decision aloud: evidence needed, possible causes, checks and outcome verification. Adapt this exercise to engineering, geoscience, IT or the advertised business specialty.

3. Make academic evidence easy to review

Prepare an accurate transcript and a clear account of your capstone project or research. Distinguish work you performed from team outputs. Check that dates, qualifications and GPA scales match across your profile and attachments.

4. Use the invitation to choose practice

Identify whether you have been asked for a live interview, recorded response, technical exercise or aptitude test. Rehearse the relevant skill and check the instructions for language, equipment and timing before selecting practice materials.

5. Prepare questions about the actual role

Prepare questions about the team’s priorities, systems, success measures and working environment. For a relocation role, keep a separate document checklist and practical questions for evaluating the offer.

Aramco assessment FAQ

Does Aramco use HireVue?

The official sources reviewed do not establish HireVue for every Aramco applicant. A video interview is not enough to identify its software. Follow the platform named in your own invitation.

Do international graduates use the Saudi graduate route?

The published graduate route is for Saudi applicants. International recruitment primarily targets experienced professionals; check eligibility for the particular vacancy.

Are the English and mathematics tests required for everyone?

They are explicitly published for the Saudi high-school apprenticeship programme. That does not establish the test content of university-graduate or experienced hiring.

Is there a published assessment pass mark?

These official professional-recruitment pages do not publish a common passing score. Degree GPA requirements are eligibility criteria, not assessment pass marks.
