Prepare for USPS VEA 474–477

Match the exam number in your invitation or job posting: 474 is for mail carriers, 475 for mail handlers, 476 for mail processing and 477 for customer-service clerk roles. The role pages here explain the differences and link to the corresponding full practice.

One USPS VEA pass covers full practice for all four versions and unlimited replays of all eight short drills during the chosen period. If your account includes a free first attempt, it applies once to each shared drill. The same drill does not get a new allowance on a different role page. Other assessment categories need their own pass.

No. USPS applications and official exams are free. This website provides optional independent practice; buying a pass is not a USPS application requirement and does not provide a job or priority in hiring.

No. These are original exercises covering public formats and related practice skills. USPS does not publish a fixed current section allocation, item count or clock for each version. Our four full sets each contain 50 tasks with role-specific situations, accuracy work, mail sorting and self-report familiarization. Register practice is supplemental.

USPS gives a 72-hour completion window and estimates about 30–45 minutes for the assessment. Follow the deadline and instructions shown in your own invitation. Our practice is untimed; the 72-hour window is not an exam countdown timer.

Our results separate objective accuracy from agreement with our editorial scenario choices. Work-style, motivation and history familiarization have no right/wrong grade here. These measures do not convert to an official USPS score or predict hiring. The linked USPS guide states a 70% passing threshold; that does not mean 70% on our exercises is equivalent.

Those personal selections are kept only in the browser while an unfinished sitting is being recovered. Completed server results retain the prompts, neutral guidance, time and completion status, but omit the personal selections. Scored accuracy and scenario answers are saved for review.

The current USPS FAQ says an unsuccessful attempt prevents retaking the same VEA version for 12 months. A different job group may require a different version. Use your official notice for your eligibility and result-expiration dates; practice here does not change them.

USPS is moving between application systems, so a single older screenshot may not match your account. A result can appear as eligible/ineligible or a number; refer to the official notice rather than guessing from a practice result.
