Common questions
What is a Sova assessment?
Sova provides reasoning tests, situational judgment, personality and motivation questionnaires, video interviews and other assessment tools. Employers choose the combination that fits their roles. Read the module names in your invitation rather than assuming every Sova candidate takes the same battery.
What does this practice include?
Seven six-question drills, a 36-question mixed reasoning test, three 12-question subject tests and a 12-scenario situational-judgment test. The guide also offers free personality and motivation orientation. Question counts and topic mixes are our original practice design, not a claimed universal Sova test format.
Is there a countdown?
Our practice has no fixed countdown. We record response time and show accuracy and pace separately so you can work on efficient reasoning. Sova explains that response speed matters for ability tests, even when there is no fixed time limit. Follow the instructions in your own invitation.
Which practice attempts are free?
If your account includes free first attempts, you can try each short drill once. One Sova pass covers all longer practice tests and every drill replay during your chosen period. Some accounts require a pass before scored practice. The public example and study guide are free, and saved results and explanations remain available after your pass expires.
Can I use a calculator?
You can use a calculator for our numerical practice. Bain’s Sova digital-assessment guidance permits a calculator, pen and paper for that assessment. Other employers may give different instructions, so follow the tool rules in your own invitation.
Does Bain use Sova?
Bain’s 2026 London Associate Consultant page points applicants to Sova numerical reasoning, logical reasoning and personality preparation. Bain’s general digital-assessment guidance says the provider can be Sova or TestGorilla depending on the application. Do not assume every Bain office, role or intake uses the same assessment.
Are situational-judgment answers official?
No. Our original scenarios use independently reviewed editorial judgments and explanations. Results show how your choices compare with that practice key, not an employer’s confidential scoring model. Personality and motivation reflection are separate and are not scored as right or wrong.
Does the Sova pass include personality tests or video interviews?
The guide includes free orientation for personality, motivation and video interviews, without scoring your personal preferences. The pass covers the reasoning and situational-judgment practice listed here. Our linked video interview practice is a separate product; checking, learnability and specialist employer modules are not simulated by this pass.
Will my score predict whether I pass?
No. Your result shows practice accuracy, response time and explanations. It does not convert into an official Sova score, percentile or hiring outcome. Use fresh material and compare similar attempts to check whether your reasoning is becoming more accurate and efficient.
