Privacy Policy - Game Assessment Prep

Effective Date: August 24, 2026

At Game Assessment Prep (“we,” “our,” or “us”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website, https://www.gameassessmentprep.com/, and our related services (“Services”).

1. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

a. Information You Provide Directly

  • Account details: name, email address, password
  • Billing details: payment method, billing address (handled securely by our payment provider)
  • Communication: messages sent to us via contact forms or email
  • Preparation profile: details you provide about why you signed up, the companies you are applying to, and the interview or assessment stages and platform you expect
  • Feedback: ratings, selected issue categories, and any follow-up comments submitted through game feedback forms; these answers are linked to your account and game attempt so we can investigate issues and improve our simulations
  • Interview-practice audio and transcript: the webcam video stays in your browser. After a video-practice take, its audio track is processed transiently to create a transcript. The transcript is kept in your browser and, when you are signed in, saved to your account so you can resume and request coaching

b. Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, time spent, clicks, navigation patterns, game attempts, completion outcomes, feedback-form funnel events, product-experiment assignments, and whether an eligible account claimed, started, or completed its free practice game
  • Interview-practice metrics: non-content details such as device-check success, selected timer settings, recording duration, transcript word count, feedback request outcome, and broad feedback categories. We do not put interview questions, transcripts, or recordings in Google Analytics
  • Device and browser data: IP address, browser type, operating system
  • Cookies and tracking technologies (see Section 6)

2. How We Use Your Information

We process your personal data for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and maintain our Services
  2. To process payments and manage subscriptions
  3. To respond to your inquiries and provide support
  4. To improve the Site and user experience
  5. To tailor our practice content and prioritize the assessments, interview formats, and support candidates tell us they need
  6. To transcribe completed practice answers and provide transcript-based coaching when you request it
  7. To send you important updates, promotions, and security alerts (you can opt out of marketing emails anytime)

3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data under one or more of the following legal bases:

  • Your consent (e.g., for marketing emails)
  • Contract performance (e.g., providing purchased services)
  • Legitimate interests (e.g., preventing fraud, improving services)
  • Legal obligations (e.g., tax compliance)

4. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with:

  • Service providers (including Stripe for payments, Supabase for application data, OpenAI for audio transcription, Amazon Web Services for requested transcript coaching, and Google Analytics and BigQuery for consent-based product analytics)
  • Legal authorities if required by law or court order
  • Business partners only with your consent

5. Data Retention

We keep your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this policy or comply with legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and data at any time (see Section 8).

Interview video is held only in your current browser session and is not uploaded. The separate audio track is sent securely for transcription and is not stored by us or retained by the transcription endpoint after processing. Transcript text is kept in your browser and, for signed-in users, in our application database until the account or answer is deleted. Question and transcript text sent for coaching are processed to return feedback; operational logs retain only non-content fields needed for rate limiting, reliability, and product improvement.

6. Cookies & Tracking

We may use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Keep you logged in
  • Remember your preferences
  • Analyze site performance

Analytics and advertising storage is denied by default and enabled only according to the choices you make in our cookie preference center. Limited cookieless measurement may occur before consent. You can withdraw consent at any time from the “Cookie Settings” control in the footer.

7. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred and processed outside your country. When we do this, we ensure appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), are in place.

8. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction or deletion
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Withdraw consent (for marketing)
  • Data portability

To exercise these rights, please use our contact page.

9. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute protection.

10. Minors' privacy

Our Services are not intended for minors, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with information, please contact us for deletion.
