What these simulations are — and aren’t
- Reconstructions from Criteria’s published product brief, score-report guide and tutorial materials — original illustrated faces and original scenarios, never the real items.
- Round counts and timings are official; where Criteria does not publish a detail (emotion vocabulary, option counts), the game page says so and states the default we chose.
- No fake “EI score”: the real report is a percentile the employer sees; we show objective counts, accuracy and timing so you can see yourself improve.
- Your invitation is authoritative on which parts you get and how long you have.

What is the Emotify assessment?
Emotify is Criteria Corp’s game-based emotional-intelligence assessment, originally built by the Australian company Revelian. It has three parts — Matching Faces (perceiving emotions), Emotional Ties (understanding emotions) and Emotions in Action (managing emotions) — and Criteria estimates about 20 minutes in total. It is based on the ability model of emotional intelligence, not a personality questionnaire.
How long is each part?
From Criteria’s own product brief: Matching Faces is 30 rounds of 3 seconds each; Emotional Ties is 20 rounds with up to a minute each; Emotions in Action is 14 rounds with up to a minute each. Each part opens with a tutorial you must complete before it starts.
Is there an official Emotify practice test?
No. Criteria publishes official practice for several of its tests but not for Emotify, and no candidate session recording exists publicly. That is why the tutorials matter — and why we built these simulations.
How is Emotify scored, and do I see my result?
The employer receives an overall percentile against a global norming group plus three subscale percentiles (perceiving, understanding, managing), with interpretive bands. Candidates usually do not receive their score. Our practice shows you objective counts — how many you got right and how fast — never a made-up percentile.
Are these the real Emotify faces?
No. The real assessment uses photographs of actors; our simulations use original illustrated faces driven by the same expression logic, with a difficulty ramp that mirrors the real test’s progression to subtler expressions. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by Criteria Corp.
