Take the Etihad Airways mock interviewHow the Etihad Airways hiring process works
Cabin crew candidates apply to the "Cabin Crew Worldwide" posting on careers.etihad.com with a CV, photos, and screening questions. Shortlisted applicants receive an automated email with a link to a HireVue online assessment; Etihad's privacy policy confirms video responses and psychometric results are collected through this stage, and candidates must consent to data processing before starting. On-screen instructions reportedly warn against using AI tools or external help, noting that responses are checked for originality and may be discussed later in the process.
Since around September 2025, candidates describe a six-part HireVue flow taking about 60 minutes in total. It opens with a standing, full-body intro video (state your height, work experience, and why Etihad — unlimited re-records reported), followed by four behavioral video questions with up to about three minutes per answer; most reports say re-recording is allowed, though one describes continuous recording between the standing and seated questions, so treat re-record limits as configurable. The remaining modules are "Handle Work Challenges" (a most/least situational judgement test of about 8 scenarios), "Know Your Flight" (numeracy and accuracy questions using supplied resources such as a menu, price list, seat plan, and flight details), "Tell Us Your Story" (about 20 background multiple-choice questions), and "Describe Your Approach" (39 paired-statement personality items). Reported submission deadlines vary from 72 hours to 14 days. Before late 2025, candidates instead describe a longer roughly 90-minute flow of an intro video plus four questions with about one minute of preparation each and no re-record, plus a psychometric block.
Candidates who pass the online assessment are invited to an Assessment Day, held in person around the world or virtually. Officially this includes interactive group activities, aptitude and English language assessments, and a final interview about experience and motivation; candidates additionally report document and grooming checks, an arm-reach test (reported as 210 or 212 cm, barefoot on tiptoes), staged cuts during the day, and a 30-40 minute final interview. Successful candidates move to background checks, medical, UAE visa processing, and relocation to Abu Dhabi for training.
Etihad's assessment is simulation-based rather than game-based: there is no credible evidence of vendor game assessments (pymetrics, Cappfinity, SHL games, Arctic Shores, or HireVue games), and the gamified-feeling modules are job simulations inside HireVue. Pilot applicants report a separate track with a short one-way video interview (self-introduction plus one HR and one technical question) and COMPASS-style aptitude testing covering memory, multitasking, and spatial orientation.
