Practice the four reported games below — candidates report the full set runs about 20 minutes, with short breaks between games. Difficulty adapts upward as you answer correctly, so a level that suddenly feels brutal usually means you are scoring well. A sequence-memory game: recall increasingly long number sequences. The technique that moves scores is chunking — group the sequence into threes and fours the way you would a phone number, and recall the groups rather than single digits.

An n-back working-memory task — you respond when the current item matches one from n steps back; higher levels add two-color shapes and matches from two or more steps back. Candidates consistently rank it the hardest of the four, and it is where practice pays off most — even a few n-back sessions measurably improve performance.
