Matching Faces
Matching Faces is the first part of Criteria’s Emotify assessment: one face appears with one emotion word beneath it and you have three seconds to say whether they match. Expressions grow subtler as the rounds progress. Criteria’s own product brief confirms 30 rounds at three seconds each; the real assessment uses photographs of actors, so this simulation uses original illustrated faces built to the same logic.
How to Play
A face appears with an emotion word beneath it.
Press ✓ if the word matches the expression, ✗ if it doesn’t — within 3 seconds.
Expressions become subtler and the mismatches closer as rounds progress.
30 rounds; no feedback during play, full results at the end.
In the real assessment
Round count, the 3-second limit and the match/no-match format are confirmed by Criteria’s InfoBrief and score-report guide. The emotion vocabulary and match ratio are not published, so this build uses a 50% match rate and a standard basic-emotion set with near-miss mismatches in later rounds. The real assessment reports a percentile to the employer; we show objective counts only.
