About Aon scales clx
Aon lists scales clx as its Inductive Logical Reasoning test. Each task shows two 3×3 example grids filled with yellow circles, red squares, green triangles and blue pluses. Both follow one rule. Exactly two of the four grids below follow it too, and you select those two. Read Aon’s clx practice tasks.
There is no set number of tasks: a new one appears each time you finish one, for 6 minutes, and the tasks can get harder as you go. You can unselect a grid before you move on.
The wrong grids usually share the surface of the right ones, such as the same number of a shape, and break the rule in one or two cells. See Aon’s candidate page.
Rule types in our tasks
- One shape fills a fixed set of cells
- A block of cells holds a single shape
- The same shape sits in all four corners
- A fixed shape sits in the center
- A diagonal holds one shape
- Each row reads the same both ways
- Each column holds a single shape
- Exactly two to four cells hold one shape
- Row counts of a shape step 1, 2, 3 or 3, 2, 1
Every task is original, generated fresh for each sitting and checked by a validator for a single correct answer.
Questions about scales clx practice
What is Aon scales clx?
scales clx is Aon’s Inductive Logical Reasoning test. Two example grids follow a rule about which shapes sit where. You select the two of four grids that follow the same rule. Aon runs it for 6 minutes with no fixed number of tasks.
How many tasks are there?
As many as you finish in 6 minutes. A new task appears as soon as you submit one, and the tasks get harder as you go. Our timed test works the same way and counts the tasks you complete.
Do I get credit for one right grid out of two?
In our practice a task counts as right only when both grids you select follow the rule. You must select exactly two grids to move on, and you can unselect a grid before you do.
How do I find the rule quickly?
Look at what the two examples share in the same cells: a shape in the corners, a full column, a block of one shape. Then check the four grids against that rule only. The wrong grids usually have the right number of a shape in the wrong places.
Can I go back to an earlier task?
Not in our timed test: once you select Next, the task closes. Within a task you can change your two choices as often as you like.
What is free, and which pass covers this practice?
The example on this page is free with no account and does not use an attempt. Each practice card shows your account’s access before you start. One Aon Practice Test pass covers the scales ix, clx and cls timed tests, their learning drills and the full practice test. Saved reviews stay free.
