Crossover requires the Criteria Cognitive Aptitude Test (CCAT) for virtually every role as an early, mandatory gate — failing it means automatic rejection — and later re-verifies the score with a proctored, webcam-monitored retake (the PCCAT) before hire. Crossover publishes its own official CCAT and PCCAT guides, and its support FAQ sets the retake rule: one attempt per email address in any six-month period, using multiple email addresses leads to rejection, and scores are never disclosed to candidates. The CCAT itself is Criteria’s 50-question, 15-minute multiple-choice test — verbal ability, maths and logic, and spatial reasoning mixed together, no calculator, fixed test versions rather than an adaptive engine — on which the average candidate answers about 24 correctly and fewer than 1% finish all 50. Crossover’s cutoffs are role-specific with no single public pass mark; prep sources put the bar at roughly 35 of 50, which is Criteria’s own 85th-percentile anchor. Crossover explicitly bans the use of third-party CCAT prep sites — this one included — and warns that candidates who use them are more likely to get blacklisted than hired. We therefore offer no Crossover practice: the only preparation Crossover sanctions is its own official CCAT guide plus Criteria’s official free practice tests, both linked below.
