Short Cuts

Short Cuts is a node-and-track route puzzle: move the blue marble along numbered tracks to the starred node while red blocker marbles sit in the way. Every move by any marble adds that track’s number to your distance, and each puzzle awards up to three stars for finishing close to the optimal route. A real candidate session recording and Revelian’s own 2016 assessment brief both confirm 7 puzzles under a single 4-minute clock.

How to Play

01

Click a marble, then an adjacent node, to move it one track.

02

Every move adds the track number to your distance — blockers count too.

03

Get the blue marble to the star; fewer track-units means more stars.

04

Seven puzzles under one 4-minute clock; Skip, Reset and Undo are available.

In the real assessment

Puzzle count, the 4-minute shared clock, the three buttons and the distance-based star tiers are first-hand confirmed from a candidate session recording and Revelian documentation (a widely copied “7 minutes” figure is wrong). Exact star thresholds per puzzle are only partly observed, so this build uses optimal+2 / optimal+4 as defaults. Candidates consistently call this the hardest Cognify game.
