Decision Making

Balloon

Balloon is Arctic Shores’ balloon-analogue risk task (they name it Balloon Burst in their own glossary): each pump adds a fixed amount to the balloon’s pot, banking keeps it, bursting loses it. Candidate reports describe burst points that differ by balloon colour — learnable, not uniform.

How to Play

01

Pump the balloon — each pump adds a fixed amount to its pot.

02

Bank at any time to keep the pot, or keep pumping for more.

03

If the balloon bursts, that balloon’s pot is lost.

04

Balloon colours behave differently. 45 balloons in total.

In the real assessment

The pump/bank/burst loop is well documented; per-colour burst patterns and the 45-balloon count come from candidate and preparation sources. Practice results show what you did — there is no universally “correct” risk level, and employers read this differently per role.
