Faces
The pymetrics (Harver) Faces game tests emotion recognition. You judge a photographed expression and, on some trials, integrate a short written situation to choose the emotion that best fits the whole item.
How to Play
Every trial uses the same ten choices: Anger, Determination, Disgust, Fear, Happiness, Hope, Pain, Sadness, Surprise, and Puzzlement.
Some trials show only a photo. Others add a situation; on those trials, use the written context and the facial expression together.
Photo-only trials allow 7 seconds. Photo-and-story trials allow 30 seconds.
Select one emotion label by clicking or tapping it.
In the real assessment
The real assessment does not show right/wrong feedback. This practice version flashes ✓ or ✕ after each choice so you can learn from the expression.
