Balloons

The pymetrics (Harver) Balloons game reconstructs the Balloon Analogue Risk Task. You make repeated pump-or-collect choices while recurring colors carry different hidden pop-risk curves.

About 3–4 minutes
39 balloons
Click or tap Pump and Collect; keyboard pumping is disabled

How to Play

01

Click or tap Pump to inflate the current balloon. Every safe pump adds $0.05 to that balloon’s hidden value.

02

Click or tap Collect to reveal and bank the current balloon’s value, then advance. Banked money is always safe.

03

If the balloon pops, its hidden current value is revealed as lost and you advance. Blue, orange, and yellow balloons have different hidden curves and recur throughout the 39 balloons.

04

The current balloon’s dollar value stays hidden while pumping. The top bar shows only your bank, last collect, and balloon number.

In the real assessment

Exact pymetrics colors, count, and risk curves are not publicly settled. This reconstruction uses the recommended 39-balloon, three-color defaults and preserves canonical BART’s hidden running value rather than a coaching-style live total.
