How this practice works
- Choose one of six answers, then select Next. You can also skip.
- After you move on, you cannot return to that question.
- Questions adapt to your answers within the selected rule group using our practice difficulty levels.
- When a question’s minute ends, your selected answer is submitted automatically; a blank stays unanswered. The 12-minute clock continues in background tabs and after reloads.
This adaptive-style practice uses our own difficulty rules. It does not reproduce the official adaptive algorithm or predict an official score.
Example questions
These walkthroughs are untimed. Look for the rule, choose an answer in your head, then reveal the explanation.
Example 1
Which figure completes the matrix? Within each small figure, marks fill consecutive positions from the top left, moving left to right, then continuing on the next line.
Reveal the answer and method
Answer F
Add the first two counts to get the third. The complete rows show 2 + 2 = 4 and 3 + 4 = 7. The bottom row therefore gives 3 + 3 = 6. Every small figure fills positions from the top left, left to right, then continues on the next line, as specified in the question. Put the answer’s 6 marks at: top left, top centre, top right, middle left, centre, middle right. Use hollow squares with white centres. The shape and whether its centre is dark or white do not change.
Example 2
Which figure completes the matrix?
Reveal the answer and method
Answer F
The shapes cycle circle → square → triangle and then repeat, moving one step forward across a row or down a column. Every row and column contains each shape once. The bottom row and rightmost column both need squares. Keep the positions and fill unchanged.
