What to expect in the flydubai assessment

The official material identifies skill areas, not named games. Candidate reports add English and mathematics exercises, but do not establish an exact simulator match.

Good to know: Do not import Emirates games, pilot aptitude tests or a commercial preparation site’s list into a cabin-crew invitation. Prepare for the format actually assigned.

Which flydubai roles and programs does this guide cover?

Use the flydubai vacancy, not another airline’s recruitment checklist, as your starting point. The original Emirates partnership announcement explicitly described independent management. A commercial partnership does not demonstrate shared assessment questions, scoring or recruitment stages.

The pilot careers page separately lists Captain, First Officer, Second Officer and Ab Initio training pathways. Those labels matter: experienced flight-deck recruitment and admission to initial pilot training start from different qualifications. The comparison here covers the published Ab Initio FAQ, without extending it to every pilot vacancy.

Cabin crew

The employer requires a high-school qualification, customer-service experience, English fluency and willingness to move to Dubai. Review the full physical, medical and availability requirements before applying.

Ab Initio pilot training

The programme FAQ describes eligibility screening, ability assessment, an onsite competency interview, medical clearance and final review. This is selection into a training programme, with its own contractual conditions.

Other flight-deck routes

The pilot hub distinguishes several experience levels and training routes. Use the page for your exact programme rather than treating the word cadet as one interchangeable application.

Emirates partnership does not define hiring

The airlines’ original partnership announcement states that they continue under independent management. It establishes a commercial relationship, not a shared recruitment process.

How does the flydubai assessment work?

Published cabin-crew assessment areas

Official source

flydubai names work behavior, logic, multitasking and verbal reasoning, with practice items available before the live assessment.

Pilot aptitude is a different scope

Official source

The Ab Initio FAQ names psychomotor and aptitude assessment, including coordination and concentration. It also requires successful candidates to obtain the specified GCAA Class 1 medical certification.

No published universal test parameters

No evidence found

The reviewed sources do not establish a shared passing score, question count or retry policy. The invitation is the appropriate place to check these details.

What happens in the flydubai hiring process?

What a cabin-crew assessment day may include

A UAE applicant’s June 2026 account provides additional detail beyond the employer’s overview. Treat this as an example.

  1. 1The candidate reports submitting documents and completing English and mathematics exercises.
  2. 2The account then describes two group activities and a final recruiter interview.
  3. 3The writer reports later reference and clearance requests; these dates do not predict another applicant’s waiting period.

Ab Initio training and the employment distinction

The programme FAQ separates selection, training and employment.

  1. 1Complete the selection requirements for the specific programme, including ability, interview and medical stages.
  2. 2Review the training contract and programme costs before accepting a place.
  3. 3The FAQ says graduates enter a cadet pool and employment depends on operational requirements; finishing training does not establish an immediate paid start.

When is the flydubai assessment?

Assessment days are tied to vacancies and invitations. A training duration or one candidate’s joining date is not an airline-wide hiring timetable.

The general cabin-crew page publishes the stages but no universal application calendar or response deadline.

The FAQ describes approximately 18–24 months of training. That is a programme length, not the time it takes to receive an assessment result.

How to prepare for the flydubai assessment process

These preparation exercises target the published skill areas and role responsibilities. They are not actual assessment questions.

1. Build a service-and-safety example bank

Choose real examples of resolving a customer problem, following a difficult rule and collaborating under pressure. Explain the decision you made, how you communicated it and the result. Make clear how you balanced a person’s immediate request with the responsibilities of your role.

2. Practice clear spoken English

Record a short introduction and one example answer. Check whether someone unfamiliar with your workplace can follow the situation and your contribution. Focus on clear structure and relevant detail rather than memorizing elaborate language or a script.

3. Refresh reading and numerical basics

For an invitation that includes these areas, practice understanding short instructions, percentages, time calculations and interpreting a small table. Review mistakes for misreading as well as arithmetic. Use the practice items supplied with the actual assessment to learn its controls.

4. Contribute constructively to a group

Practice discussing a simple prioritization problem with other people. State a reason, invite another view and help the group reach a conclusion. Listening and explaining a changed view are useful skills; speaking the longest is not a preparation objective.

5. Check the exact pilot pathway

If applying for pilot training, list the entry requirements and documents for that programme and compare them with what you already hold. Prepare to explain your motivation, learning approach and understanding of the career. Keep financial and start-date assumptions separate from the selection exercises.

flydubai assessment FAQ

Is flydubai recruitment the same as Emirates recruitment?

Do not assume so. The airlines’ partnership is not evidence of identical hiring processes. Use flydubai’s own job and assessment instructions.

Does flydubai use HireVue?

A 2026 cabin-crew discussion names HireVue in a candidate timeline. The official cabin-crew page confirms recorded video, but does not name the platform. There is no verified common games list here.

Will there be English and math tests?

A recent cabin-crew candidate reports both. That is useful preparation context, while the employer’s own page states broader psychometric categories. Your invitation determines your tests.

Does a pilot-training place guarantee immediate employment?

The Ab Initio FAQ says employment after training depends on operational requirements and describes an intervening cadet pool. Read the programme’s current terms before accepting.

Can I use someone else’s assessment-day timeline?

Use it only as an example. Vacancy dates, invitations, follow-up checks and joining arrangements can differ between applicants.
