Prepare examples where your decision affected a customer, colleague, deadline or quality standard.
United’s Emerging Talent Toolbox recommends employer research, practice and thoughtful questions. The exercises below are independent preparation suggestions.
1. Build a service-and-judgement example
Choose a time someone was upset or a plan changed unexpectedly. Explain how you clarified the need, stayed composed, involved the right person and reached an outcome. Include the point where you had to balance service with a rule or constraint.
2. Show reliable teamwork
Prepare an example of a handover, shared deadline or disagreement. Describe what others needed from you and how you made your work dependable. For a group exercise, practice giving a concise view, inviting another view and helping the group make progress.
3. Match technical preparation to the vacancy
For an internship, select one project relevant to the team and practice explaining the problem, method, validation and result. Revisit the tools actually named in the advert. A technical requirement should drive the revision plan, not the airline name alone.
4. Practice clear recorded answers
Record a short introduction and two experience examples before the interview. Listen for vague actions and long setup. Use the practice to become understandable and natural, then check camera, microphone and connection on the device you will use.
5. Check the practical fit early
Review passport, schedule, location and functional requirements in the actual role description. For language-qualified applications, practice communicating a complete message accurately in the relevant language across speaking and writing.
