What to expect in the Labatt assessment

An online assessment is confirmed, but its exercises are not described sufficiently to match a particular simulator. For now, preparation should follow the vacancy and the instructions supplied with your invitation.

Good to know: No exercise on this site is established here as an exact Labatt test. Treat any general practice as optional skill development, and reassess your preparation once the assessment instructions arrive.

Which Labatt roles and programs does this guide cover?

Start with the Canadian job title rather than a generic AB InBev assessment description. A management trainee, brewery leadership candidate and marketing intern can be preparing for different stages. International program guides should not override the requirements in your Labatt vacancy.

The programme postings below provide separate selection guidance for graduate trainees and interns. Match your preparation to the role itself, especially when comparing commercial rotations, brewery leadership and a function-specific project.

People (HR) internship

The fifteen-week Toronto internship centers on an HR project and collaboration across People teams. It is intended for undergraduates returning to study, rather than graduates seeking a full-time trainee placement.

Marketing internship

This Toronto route involves a brand project, consumer research, campaign support and coordination with other teams. Use those responsibilities to select relevant application examples.

How does the Labatt assessment work?

GMT mentions Kolab

Official source

The GMT posting identifies Kolab as the assessment-email sender. Its 24-hour wording is not a published test duration; follow the invitation's completion instructions.

Brewery trainees have an additional test

Supply Future Leaders explicitly includes a job knowledge test alongside its online assessment. The posting does not provide a syllabus or question count.

Internship selection is separately described

Official source

The People internship lists an online assessment and phone screen, followed by business-leader interviews, preferably in person where possible. It does not list the trainee case days.

Test details remain unconfirmed

No evidence found

The reviewed postings do not establish an exact game lineup, pass mark, retake rule or timed-test length. An online assessment reference alone cannot identify these details.

How to prepare for the Labatt assessment process

Use the following as preparation exercises, not predictions of questions. Prioritize the route's published work and selection format.

1. Explain your program choice

Write a short explanation of why you want broad rotations, brewery leadership or a particular internship function. Connect that choice to a concrete experience, and think through the practical implications of location and working arrangements.

2. Build evidence of ownership

Prepare examples of solving a problem, resolving disagreement and improving a result. Separate your own contribution from the team's, include a meaningful measure of impact, and explain what you would change next time.

3. Practice a beverage-business case

For a case invitation, work through a fictional stock shortage or production bottleneck. State the objective, identify missing information, compare options and explain your recommendation. In a group rehearsal, make space for other views and help the team reach a decision.

4. Refresh relevant knowledge

Brewery applicants can review basic process measurement and troubleshooting; marketing applicants can practice connecting consumer observations to a campaign decision; HR applicants can organize a people-project example. These are role-based suggestions, not a disclosed test syllabus.

5. Read the invitation carefully

Record the assessment deadline and any scheduled interview time separately. Check equipment instructions and permitted resources before starting. If adjustments are needed, arrange them before the assessment rather than discovering an access problem during it.

Labatt assessment FAQ

Does Labatt use HireVue or SHL?

The reviewed Canadian postings do not confirm either. The GMT vacancy mentions Kolab for its assessment email; this does not establish a company-wide provider or game lineup.

Is the internship process the same as the trainee process?

No. The Marketing internship lists assessment and phone screening followed by business-leader interviews. Follow the vacancy for your function rather than assuming the trainee case stages apply.

Does every applicant need to attend a case day?

The case requirements described here belong to the named trainee routes. They should not be assumed for other Canadian vacancies.

How long is the online test?

A reliable duration is not published in the reviewed evidence. Use the assessment invitation, keeping its completion deadline separate from the time allowed after starting.

What should I prepare first?

Identify your exact program, organize strong examples from your experience, and read the assessment instructions. If a case is confirmed, add structured problem-solving and presentation practice.
