What to expect in the Kantar assessment

Kantar does not publish an individual task list. The vendor’s preparation guidance is the strongest starting point for understanding the format.

Good to know: Use official practice first. Do not try to manufacture a personality profile or assume that every task on an independent practice site will appear in your invitation.

Which Kantar roles and programs does this guide cover?

Separate understanding a consumer problem from operating the assessment platform. Prepare both: a clear account of how you reached a conclusion, and enough familiarity with the invitation to avoid technical surprises.

Read the vacancy before choosing examples. A research application can emphasize study design and interpretation; a project-management application can emphasize delivery, dependencies and communication. An anecdote about a successful team should make your individual contribution visible.

Graduate and other entry routes

Kantar offers graduates, internships, placements and apprenticeships. Availability and entry requirements differ geographically; some graduate programmes rotate and others remain within one position.

Research and project management

Research work includes gathering evidence, analysis and communicating useful insights. Project managers coordinate delivery and budgets; research managers help shape the research approach and work across teams.

How to prepare for the Kantar assessment process

Use the following original exercises to practice turning information into a recommendation. They are not official Kantar assessment questions.

1. Explain an insight without overstating it

Choose a small dataset or a published chart. Identify the business question, describe the evidence and propose one action. Add a limitation such as sample size, missing groups or a competing explanation. Practice saying what the data supports and what it cannot establish.

2. Design a simple research approach

Imagine a retailer wants to understand why customers abandon a purchase. Define the decision first, then choose interviews, observation or a survey and explain the tradeoff. Identify who might be missing from the sample. Finish with how the findings would change the retailer’s next step.

3. Rehearse concise video answers

Record an answer about a time you changed your mind after seeing evidence. Keep the context short, explain what you did and end with the result. Listen for unclear pronouns, unexplained jargon and claims that sound larger than your actual contribution. Use platform practice to test audio and camera placement.

4. Make group work useful

During a practice case, propose a decision criterion, invite input and keep track of time. When views differ, identify which assumption drives the disagreement. Contribute both ideas and organization; a clear summary can be as valuable as introducing a new argument.

5. Prepare a delivery example

For project roles, explain a deadline or dependency that became uncertain. Show how you reprioritized work, communicated the impact and checked the result. Include a concrete lesson you would apply to a future project.

Kantar assessment FAQ

Will every Kantar applicant take the same test?

No single worldwide sequence is established. Follow the instructions for your vacancy.

Can I use a practice score as a pass target?

No. Independent practice scores do not establish Kantar’s selection criteria or the profile sought for a particular role.

How should I prepare for a research interview?

Practice connecting a business question to a research method, a finding and a decision. Explain limitations as clearly as the recommendation.

What if a task feels unfamiliar?

Use the official practice and instructions. Focus on understanding the rule before acting; do not assume another employer’s configuration applies.
