What to expect in the Frazer-Nash assessment

The employer confirms a task-based provider, but does not publish a fixed list of task names. Familiarization with interactive instructions is different from knowing Frazer-Nash’s exact assessment configuration.

Good to know: Arctic Shores says its own practice task is sufficient to become familiar with the format and advises natural responses. No particular game, score threshold or ideal behavioral profile is established for Frazer-Nash here.

Which Frazer-Nash roles and programs does this guide cover?

This guide concerns Frazer-Nash Consultancy and its UK early-careers routes. It does not establish the selection process for experienced hires or for every overseas office. The published graduate streams include engineering, systems, digital, project management consultancy and human sciences.

The graduate careers page describes involvement from understanding a client’s needs through technical delivery, with opportunities to develop commercial responsibilities over time. Preparation should therefore connect analytical work to the problem a client needs solved, rather than focusing only on academic terminology.

Graduate applicants

The UK FAQ gives an application review, task-based assessment, video interview and final interview with a presentation. The employer’s process guide calls the graduate final stage an Explore Day.

How to prepare for the Frazer-Nash assessment process

Spend preparation time on the work you want to do and on communicating your own evidence. These are suggested exercises, not live interview questions.

1. Turn one project into a client explanation

Choose a technical or analytical project. Explain the requirement, the assumptions, the method you selected and how you checked the output. Then describe what the result would allow a client to decide. Be ready to explain a limitation without losing the main conclusion.

2. Prepare for technical follow-up

Identify the two or three concepts most relevant to your chosen stream. Practice explaining why you used a method, what an alternative would change and how you would investigate an unexpected result. If your experience is academic, be explicit about what you personally designed or analyzed.

3. Build and rehearse a focused presentation

For a graduate invitation, follow the supplied topic and time limit. Give the audience a clear problem, a small number of findings and a conclusion. Rehearse aloud and remove slides that do not support the central point. Prepare for questions about evidence and tradeoffs.

4. Use the supplied practice task

Check your device and understand the interactive instructions before starting the assessment. Request any needed adjustment in advance. For the video stage, practice organizing an answer from a short set of notes and delivering it clearly in one take.
