What to expect in the Fidelity Investments assessment

There is no supported reason to start with a generic Fidelity games list. The useful distinction is between behavioral conversation, a job-specific exercise and a consulting case.

Good to know: A HireVue logo identifies an interview platform; it does not by itself identify which assessment products have been selected. Only practice a named test format when it appears in your invitation.

Which Fidelity Investments roles and programs does this guide cover?

Start with the employer identity on your application. Fidelity Investments and Fidelity International are separate businesses. Advice about the latter’s UK graduate scheme cannot automatically describe an Investments role. The sources below concentrate on Fidelity Investments’ US careers guidance.

Preparation is most useful when tied to the team’s work. A customer-service candidate needs clear examples of helping people and learning unfamiliar information. A consulting candidate should additionally practice structuring an ambiguous business problem. Neither should assume a software-engineering test is part of their process.

General US recruitment

Fidelity’s March 2026 overview says the process varies with the role and department. The recruiter explains interview arrangements and any skills assessment or case required for that job.

Customer Relationship Advocate preparation

Fidelity provides a dedicated interview handout emphasizing previous actions, interpersonal skills and situation-based evidence. Its virtual-interview instructions refer to Zoom, illustrating why one platform should not be assumed for every role.

What happens in the Fidelity Investments hiring process?

The published recruitment framework

Fidelity’s general overview is a framework with room for department-specific differences.

  1. 1Submit the application for a suitable vacancy and make relevant experience easy to identify.
  2. 2The recruiter reviews suitability and may discuss your goals, role expectations and logistics.
  3. 3Prepare for the interviews and any additional exercise the recruiter specifies.
  4. 4After selection, review the offer and the next steps supplied by the recruiter.

How to use the consulting sample

The official transcript is useful preparation for a case invitation, without being a current question bank.

  1. 1Restate the business objective in your own words and identify missing information.
  2. 2Outline an approach before diving into calculations or isolated ideas.
  3. 3End with a recommendation, its supporting evidence and sensible limits.

How to prepare for the Fidelity Investments assessment process

Use these exercises before the interview. They are preparation suggestions, not predictions of Fidelity’s questions.

1. Build evidence around the actual job

Choose four examples that fit the vacancy: handling a difficult interaction, learning a new process, improving accuracy and working with others. For each, record the problem, your own actions, the result and what you learned. Separate your contribution from the team’s.

2. Make financial explanations accessible

For a customer-facing role, practice explaining an unfamiliar concept to someone without specialist knowledge. Check understanding, avoid unsupported certainty and describe how you would find an answer when you do not know it. Use a familiar everyday example for the practice exercise.

3. Prepare technical depth selectively

For a technology vacancy, pick a relevant project and rehearse its architecture, tradeoffs, failure modes and how you verified the result. For a case invitation, practice turning a broad business question into a small set of questions and a reasoned recommendation.

4. Rehearse a clear virtual conversation

Record one practice response and remove unnecessary background detail. Test the device and meeting software named in your instructions. Prepare two questions about the team’s priorities and how success in the role will be evaluated.

Fidelity Investments assessment FAQ

Does Fidelity Investments use HireVue?

Yes, its careers FAQ names HireVue for some interviews. It does not establish universal use or a common games battery.

Is Fidelity International the same employer?

No. Fidelity’s own careers information identifies the two as separate companies. Check the legal employer and application site before using another Fidelity guide.

Should I prepare a consulting case?

If you are applying to consulting or your recruiter specifies a case, the official Fidelity Consulting example is a useful starting point. It does not establish cases for every role.

How should I answer a behavioral interview?

Use a real example and explain the action you personally took. Show the result and reflection; avoid spending most of the answer describing the situation.

What if I need an adjustment?

The careers FAQ provides an HR Accommodation Team route for applicants who need an adjustment to the application or interview process. Raise the request before the affected stage.
