What to expect in the AB InBev assessment

AB InBev’s European pages describe assessment categories rather than a named suite of game products. Business cases at ABI Day are collaborative assessment exercises; they should not be confused with an online cognitive game.

Good to know: No simulator is presented here as an exact AB InBev test. Use the provider’s familiarization material if your invitation supplies it, then prepare for the confirmed categories and the business work of your selected programme.

Which AB InBev roles and programs does this guide cover?

This guide focuses on AB InBev’s European graduate recruitment. It does not treat the separately advertised Anheuser-Busch US process as interchangeable. Applicants elsewhere should use the local programme, language, eligibility, and selection instructions rather than assuming a global test lineup.

Graduate Management Traineeship: Europe

The European GMT page describes a 10-month route with rotations and front-line experience. It lists selection exercises in personality, logical thinking, job knowledge, and local-language proficiency where applicable. Do not substitute the video-task description from another traineeship.

Commercial Management Traineeship: Europe

CMT is an 18-month commercial route with field sales and customer work. Its assessment description explicitly includes cognitive and personality activities alongside brief recorded responses.

Supply Chain Management Traineeship: Europe

SMT describes six months of brewery and operations experience. Its online stage also includes cognitive and personality activities plus video responses. The operational focus makes process improvement and teamwork useful preparation themes.

Graduate programmes outside Europe

The global GMT page describes a 12-month experience and mobility across locations. That differs from the European duration; it is a reason to use your local vacancy, not a basis for combining global and European requirements.

How does the AB InBev assessment work?

GMT’s external assessment provider is unnamed

No evidence found

The GMT page says shortlisted applicants receive an email from an external provider and create a profile. It does not identify a brand. A Workday application link does not identify the test supplier.

Recorded answers and live interviews are distinct

Official source

CMT describes short recorded tasks in the online assessment, followed by a one-to-one virtual interview about motivation and behavior. Prepare both concise initial answers and examples that withstand follow-up questions.

ABI Day includes collaborative case work

Official source

SMT describes a half-day virtual assessment event involving group business cases and networking with former trainees. Practice making useful contributions and building a shared recommendation.

Application and reapplication rules

Official source

The European FAQ says only the first submitted programme application is considered. After an unsuccessful test or application, candidates may apply again in the following cycle. A special situation affecting attendance or completion should be raised with recruitment.

What happens in the AB InBev hiring process?

The European selection path

The CMT page publishes the following sequence; the other European traineeships use the same broad stage structure with differences in their assessment descriptions.

  1. 1Submit the application for your chosen programme.
  2. 2Complete the invited online activities.
  3. 3Attend the live virtual interview.
  4. 4Take part in ABI Day and its group business exercises.
  5. 5If selected, attend the final group interview with senior leaders before an offer decision.

When is the AB InBev assessment?

The European FAQ publishes a 2026–27 recruitment calendar. Country vacancies can close earlier, so these windows should not be read as a guarantee that a particular opening remains available.

CycleApplication datesLikely assessment windowEvidence
European GMT recruitmentSeptember 2026 to the end of November 2026Invitation-specificOfficial source

Check the programme’s country application link for the actual vacancy. The advertised window is an application period, not a test deadline.

European CMT and SMT recruitmentDecember 2026 to the end of April 2027Invitation-specificOfficial source

The current FAQ states this window for both routes and warns that places can fill early. It describes about 50 days from application to final panel on average, with possible delays.

How to prepare for the AB InBev assessment process

Prepare a small set of evidence and business exercises that fit the programme. The examples below are practice suggestions rather than published AB InBev interview questions or case topics.

1. Make your programme choice concrete

Write a short comparison of GMT, CMT, and SMT using the work each involves. Then explain why your preferred route fits your interests, experience, and willingness to work in the advertised locations. A specific account of the work you want is stronger than simply saying that you aspire to management.

2. Connect a decision to a business result

Choose an example where you improved a process, persuaded others, or took responsibility for a result. Rehearse the starting problem, the information you gathered, the action you took, and what changed. Include one limitation or unsuccessful assumption so your explanation remains credible under follow-up questions.

3. Practice a small commercial or operational case

For CMT, compare two hypothetical customer proposals using volume, margin, and implementation effort. For SMT, consider a bottleneck with competing cost, quality, and delivery constraints. For GMT, explain how a local decision affects another function. State assumptions and recommend a next step; these are invented preparation scenarios.

4. Become useful in a group discussion

Practice opening with the objective, identifying missing information, and organizing the group’s time. Offer a calculation or concrete option, invite another perspective, and summarize where the group agrees. Avoid treating airtime as the goal: a clear contribution can be brief and still move the work forward.

AB InBev assessment FAQ

Does AB InBev use one assessment provider everywhere?

The reviewed European process pages do not name a universal supplier. Use the brand and activity descriptions in your invitation. The application system alone is not proof of an assessment vendor.

Will I record video answers?

The European CMT and SMT pages explicitly include recorded tasks. The current GMT page describes a different online mix and a later virtual interview; check your GMT invitation rather than assuming the same recording stage.

What should I practice for ABI Day?

Practice solving an unfamiliar business problem with others: define the objective, use the information supplied, compare options, and communicate a shared recommendation. These are preparation methods, not a predicted case.

Is this the same process as Anheuser-Busch in the US?

This page covers European AB InBev graduate programmes. Use Anheuser-Busch’s own vacancy and programme instructions for US recruitment; the European stages and calendar should not be transferred automatically.
