The Procter & Gamble assessment process, explained

Every stage of P&G’s global hiring process, what the two online assessments actually contain in P&G’s own words, and the closest practice for the three timed tasks.

The Procter & Gamble interview rounds at a glance

  1. 1Online application — Education details, a resume and a short role-specific questionnaire through pgcareers.com, which runs on Workday. Many postings are reviewed on a rolling basis and can close early once the roles are filled.
  2. 2Peak Performance Assessment — Four mandatory sections of multiple-choice and sliding-scale questions about your background, experience, interests and views on working at P&G. About 20 minutes. P&G says there are no right or wrong answers. What the assessments contain
  3. 3Interactive Assessment — About 30 minutes of three timed tasks: equations to complete with the digits 1 to 9, a tube-and-branch symbol logic task, and three rounds of memory plus mirror, rotation and element judgments. Role-dependent; you cannot go back to a previous question. The three tasks, in detail
  4. 4Behavioral interviews — Up to three rounds of about 45 to 60 minutes, one-on-one or panel, virtual or in person, scored against P&G’s Peak Performance Factors and answered in Context, Actions, Results form. What they ask
  5. 5Final step or event (region-dependent) — UK graduate roles finish with a one-day in-person Career Academy; European event tracks such as the Brussels Masterclass put a first video interview before the event and final interviews after it.Dates by region
  6. 6Offer and onboarding — P&G says an offer letter can arrive within a week in some cases and take much longer in others, followed by its P&G+Me onboarding program.

What games are in the Procter & Gamble assessment?

P&G does not call these games and does not give them names. On screen they are simply the Interactive Assessment, in three parts. Each task below is described first by the mechanic P&G itself publishes, then mapped to the Aon challenge that matches it, because Aon-style practice is the closest available preparation rather than a confirmed replica of P&G’s screen. Do not expect the names Digit, Switch or Grid to appear in your assessment.

Practice the Procter & Gamble set

The 3 games on this page, in order, with a summary at the end. Lineup maintained from first-party candidate reports — invitations, interviews, and post-assessment feedback.

Equation task, about 6 minutes (matches Aon’s Digit Challenge)

Closest practice only

Official source

P&G’s own overview describes completing equations by dragging the digits 1 to 9 into the gaps, each digit used only once, with multiplication resolved before addition and subtraction. It is arithmetic under time pressure with a constraint-satisfaction twist: the digits you spend on one gap are gone from the rest of the equation, so the winning approach is to test the most constrained gap first rather than solving left to right. The mechanics match Aon’s Digit Challenge, which is the closest practice we have.

Practice Equation task, about 6 minutes (matches Aon’s Digit Challenge)

Branch logic task, about 6 minutes (matches Aon’s Switch Challenge)

Closest practice only

Official source

P&G describes symbols traveling through a system of tubes and branches, where you work out which path each symbol took according to a logic rule, and states that there is always only one correct answer. A candidate on Blind in January 2020 called it a weird pipe thing, which is the same task seen from the candidate’s side. The skill it rewards is holding a transformation rule in mind and applying it backwards from the output. The mechanics match Aon’s Switch Challenge.

Practice Branch logic task, about 6 minutes (matches Aon’s Switch Challenge)

Memory and spatial task, about 12 minutes in three rounds (matches Aon’s Grid Challenge)

Closest practice only

Official source

P&G describes three rounds of roughly 4 minutes each that interleave two demands: remembering the positions of dots on a grid while, in between, judging whether shapes are mirror images, whether one is a rotation of another, and which elements have been added to or removed from a figure. The memory load is the part candidates underestimate, because the puzzle in the middle is designed to push the dot positions out of your head. A candidate on Blind described memory dot tests in the same sitting. The mechanics match Aon’s Grid Challenge.

Practice Memory and spatial task, about 12 minutes in three rounds (matches Aon’s Grid Challenge)

Peak Performance Assessment (no simulator, and none is needed)

Category practice

Official source

The 20-minute questionnaire is not a game and has no right answers by P&G’s own statement. There is nothing to drill. The one thing that matters is consistency: answer as the same person across all four sections, because a work-style questionnaire measures the stability of your responses as much as their content. If you want practice with the forced-choice format in general, a work-style questionnaire on this site gives you the feel of it, not the instrument.

A fourth game, or Aon’s Motion Challenge: no evidence

Category practice

No evidence found

P&G describes three tasks and only three. Nothing in P&G’s pages, its Workday postings or any candidate account we could read mentions a fourth exercise or a motion-based task. If your invitation lists something else, follow the invitation, and tell us so this page can be corrected.

Source: P&G Careers, Interactive Assessment overview (three tasks listed)

Good to know: None of these is a P&G simulator. P&G names no vendor, and the Aon mapping rests on a match between the mechanics P&G publishes and Aon’s challenge formats plus a 2019 press report. P&G also says the Interactive Assessment is role-dependent, so Sales and plant roles may see a Virtual Job Preview instead. Your invitation email is the only binding source for which exercises you will sit, how long you have and on what device.

Who gets the Procter & Gamble assessment?

P&G publishes an unusual amount about its own hiring. The global, US, India and Singapore hiring-process pages are word-for-word identical, and P&G also publishes a page for each assessment describing what the screens contain. That makes the assessment stage the best-documented part of the process: one application, two online assessments, behavioral interviews, offer.

What P&G never publishes is the vendor. No P&G page names a test publisher. In April 2019, trade press quoting P&G’s own global assessment leader reported that P&G had moved away from paper-and-pencil tests at testing centers and adopted an off-the-shelf product, Aon’s Global Assessment and Talent Engine. A second article that month restates that account rather than reporting it independently, so it is one press chain, seven years old. Aon once published a P&G reference page and a P&G case study; both URLs now redirect to generic Aon landing pages, so no live vendor page corroborates the link. Treat Aon as reported, not confirmed.

The strongest evidence is mechanical rather than contractual. P&G’s own Interactive Assessment page describes three tasks whose mechanics map one-to-one onto Aon’s Digit, Switch and Grid challenges, and a candidate posting on Blind in January 2020 described the sitting as puzzles, math, memory dot tests and a weird pipe thing. That is why the Aon practice on this site is the closest fit for the three tasks, and why this page describes each one by its mechanic before naming any Aon equivalent.

Everything here was checked on 11 September 2026. Where the evidence is a prep site rather than a primary source, this page leaves the claim out and says so.

Recent-graduate hiring (global)

P&G says it hires about 2,500 recent graduates a year across roughly 80 countries in Brand Management, Sales, Finance & Accounting, Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, R&D and other functions, with increasing responsibility from day one. Entry-level applicants go through the same application, Peak Performance Assessment, Interactive Assessment, interview and offer sequence as everyone else.

Internships and co-ops (global; US Summer 2027 postings live)

Internships run from six weeks to 12 months. P&G says about 500 interns join annually in the US and that 70 to 80 percent of its US interns receive full-time offers each year. Summer 2027 US postings in Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, R&D and Brand Management for 2028 graduates went live between 24 August and 10 September 2026 and point applicants to the standard hiring-process and assessment pages.

UK graduate roles and the Career Academy

UK graduate roles start at £45,000 and P&G’s UK page notes there are no rotational programmes. The live Marketing Graduate Role 2026/7 posting for Weybridge, posted 11 September 2026, closes on 20 September 2026 and ends in a one-day Brand Career Academy on 29 October 2026, with rolling start dates from November 2026. The UK early-careers page says further roles go live in October.

UK internships and industrial placements

The UK early-careers page lists internships and industrial placements alongside graduate roles, with roles going live in October and a register-your-interest form in the meantime. Placement postings follow the same sequence: application, online assessments, virtual interviews, with applications closing once enough successful candidates are found.

European event tracks (P&G Masterclass, Brussels)

The Brussels Masterclass on 17 November 2026 is a one-day event for Brand, Sales, Finance and Supply Chain candidates. Its sequence is explicit: register by 1 November 2026, complete the Peak Performance Assessment and the Interactive Assessment by 4 November 2026, sit a first video interview with a P&G colleague, then attend the event, with second or final interviews after it.

Canada technical manager and co-op roles

The Manufacturing & Engineering Technical Manager 2027 posting for Belleville spells out the accommodation sequence: complete the Peak Performance Assessment, which it describes as not timed, and do not start the Interactive Assessment until you have been contacted. The same posting says assessment scores are valid for 12 months and that P&G does not use artificial intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants.

Plant technician hiring (US plants)

Plant roles use a shorter, different battery. P&G’s plant-jobs FAQ describes four steps: application, up to two online assessments (a Virtual Job Preview of about 25 minutes plus the Peak Performance Assessment of about 20 minutes), panel and one-to-one interviews scored against the Peak Performance Factors, then an offer. Interviews are targeted within one to two weeks of the assessments, and unsuccessful candidates wait 12 months.

Sales applicants and the Sales Virtual Job Preview

P&G publishes a separate overview for a Sales Virtual Job Preview: a realistic job preview followed by six exercises covering customer and colleague emails, sales-report analysis, weekly calendar prioritization, and three short work-style and background questionnaires. P&G puts it at about 60 minutes, says the exercises have no time limit but encourages working quickly, and notes you cannot go back to change an answer. P&G’s page does not restrict it to experienced hires and does not say it replaces the other two assessments.

India campus programs

P&G India’s published hiring process is identical to the global one and mentions no India-specific test. In practice India hiring is wrapped in campus programs rather than being a different process: Spotlight targets second-year engineering students at select institutes, PEAKathon is the MBA case competition, and PS Voyage offers Product Supply internships to first-year MBAs, with internship and full-time offers for top performers. A 2020 campus account described an extra in-campus offline aptitude test on logical and quantitative reasoning; we could not confirm whether that still runs, so treat it as historical.

How does the Procter & Gamble assessment work?

Two assessments, and P&G names them

Official source

The global hiring-process page names both: a Peak Performance Assessment and an Interactive Assessment. It puts the whole assessment stage at 20 to 60 minutes, says some sections are timed, and says the assessments are available around the clock, are mobile-enabled, and are translated into more than 20 languages.

What the Peak Performance Assessment is

Official source

Four mandatory sections of multiple-choice and sliding-scale items about your background, your experience, your interests and your point of view on issues related to working at P&G. P&G states plainly that there are no right or wrong answers, and that it measures compatibility against its Peak Performance Factors. P&G puts it at about 20 minutes; the Canadian posting describes it as not timed.

Source: P&G Careers, Peak Performance Assessment overview

What the Interactive Assessment is

Official source

P&G calls it a brief series of cognitive ability assessments and breaks it into three parts: about 6 minutes of completing equations by filling the gaps with the digits 1 to 9, each used once, with multiplication resolved first; about 6 minutes of working out which branches symbols traveled through according to a logic rule, where P&G says there is always only one correct answer; and about 12 minutes across three rounds of roughly 4 minutes each that alternate remembering dot positions with judging mirror images, rotations, and elements added or removed. About 30 minutes in total.

Source: P&G Careers, Interactive Assessment overview

P&G names no vendor; Aon is reported, not confirmed

Single source

P&G’s own Interactive Assessment page describes the three timed tasks but names no publisher, and neither does any other P&G page we could find. In April 2019, trade press quoting P&G’s global assessment leader reported that P&G had broken with tradition and turned to an off-the-shelf product from outside vendor Aon, its Global Assessment and Talent Engine. A second April 2019 article restates that account and credits it, so it is one chain rather than two sources. Aon’s P&G reference page and its P&G case study now redirect to generic Aon pages. The mechanics match Aon’s Digit, Switch and Grid challenges, but nothing live confirms the relationship for the current cycle.

No going back

Official source

P&G states that once you answer a question you move on and cannot return to it. That applies across the assessments, including the Sales Virtual Job Preview. Plan to commit to an answer and move, because time spent regretting one is time taken from the next.

Source: P&G Careers, Interactive Assessment overview

No AI, on either side

Official source

P&G asks you to complete the assessment alone, without other people and without real-time help from technology such as artificial intelligence, and states that it does not use AI in its online assessments. The Belleville posting goes further for Canada: P&G does not use artificial intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants.

Results, validity and retakes

Official source

P&G says it aims to let you know your results within 30 days by email, that for most roles assessment results automatically determine whether an application moves forward, and that if you do not pass the first time you can try again after 12 months. Canadian postings add that scores are valid for 12 months and can be applied to a later application through the link in the posting.

What P&G does not publish

No evidence found

There is no published pass rate, cut score or percentile threshold, no statement that difficulty adapts to your performance, and no fixed countdown window to complete the assessment after the invitation. Prep sites assert all three, including a 72-hour window and a sub-20-percent pass rate, with no primary source behind them. P&G’s postings set calendar deadlines instead: the Brussels Masterclass, for example, required both assessments to be complete by 4 November 2026.

Which assessments you get depends on the role

Official source

P&G’s assessment overviews page separates them: the Peak Performance Assessment at about 20 minutes, the Interactive Assessment at about 30 minutes, a Sales Virtual Job Preview at about 60 minutes for Sales applicants, and a Plant Technician Virtual Job Preview of about 25 minutes plus the 20-minute Peak Performance Assessment. Your invitation tells you which combination applies to you.

What happens in the Procter & Gamble hiring process?

The global process, in P&G’s four steps

The global, US, India and Singapore hiring-process pages publish the identical sequence.

  1. 1Apply online through pgcareers.com with your education details, resume and a short role-specific questionnaire. Many postings are reviewed on a rolling basis and close early once filled.
  2. 2Complete the Peak Performance Assessment: four mandatory sections of multiple-choice and sliding-scale questions, about 20 minutes, no right or wrong answers.
  3. 3Complete the Interactive Assessment if your role includes it: about 30 minutes of three timed tasks, no going back to a previous question, no AI or other help.
  4. 4Wait for results, which P&G aims to email within 30 days. For most roles the assessment results automatically determine whether the application moves forward.
  5. 5Interview: up to three rounds of about 45 to 60 minutes, one-on-one or panel, virtual or in person, on your past achievements and how you approach work.
  6. 6Receive the offer, which P&G says can come within a week or take considerably longer, then start the P&G+Me onboarding program.

Source: P&G Careers, Hiring Process (global)

What the interviews ask

P&G scores interviews against its Peak Performance Factors and publishes the question style on its Design interview page and its own applicant blog.

  1. 1Standardized past-experience questions, such as asking for a time you worked with others or an example of creating something new. Answer in Context, Actions, Results form: the situation, what you specifically did, and the measurable outcome.
  2. 2Hypothetical work-situation questions, such as how you would make a difficult project succeed.
  3. 3Evidence of ownership, adaptability, learning agility, resilience and teamwork, which P&G’s October 2025 blog names as what it is looking for.
  4. 4Expect interviewers to have read your resume in advance, and a portfolio in advance for Design roles, and to probe the specifics of the examples you give.
  5. 5Interviews run about 45 to 60 minutes, may be a panel of two or three, and may be virtual or in person.

Source: P&G Careers US, Design interview page; P&G applicant blog (October 2025)

The UK final step: Career Academy

For UK graduate roles the last stage is an in-person academy rather than another interview round alone.

  1. 1Attend the one-day, in-person Career Academy at the office named in your posting, with travel costs covered by P&G.
  2. 2Take part in training on how P&G builds its brands.
  3. 3Work through a real-world business challenge alongside other candidates.
  4. 4Present your recommendations to a P&G hiring panel.
  5. 5Successful attendees receive full-time offers, with rolling start dates set by the posting.

Source: P&G Workday posting R000159010 (Weybridge, Brand Career Academy 29 October 2026)

European event tracks: assessments first, then a video interview

The Brussels Masterclass posting is the clearest published example of how P&G sequences an event-based track.

  1. 1Register by the posted deadline (1 November 2026 for the 17 November 2026 event).
  2. 2Complete both the Peak Performance Assessment and the Interactive Assessment by the assessment deadline (4 November 2026).
  3. 3Sit a first video interview with a P&G colleague. P&G names no video platform anywhere we could find, and the wording reads as a live conversation rather than a recorded one.
  4. 4Attend the event day, which includes an interactive team challenge.
  5. 5Second or final interviews take place after the event.

Source: P&G Workday posting R000158819 (Brussels)

What changed, and what is retired

Older guides still describe a process P&G no longer runs, which matters if you are reading advice written before 2019.

  1. 1Before 2019: an online Reasoning Screen of figural items, followed by a longer in-person Global Reasoning Test taken at a testing center.
  2. 2From 2018 to 2019: P&G moved to a mobile, game-style assessment, which trade press attributed to an off-the-shelf Aon product.
  3. 3By January 2020 a candidate was already describing the current three-task format, so any advice about a 40-question paper test at a testing center is out of date.

When is the Procter & Gamble assessment?

P&G runs one global process but many regional calendars, and its postings set explicit dates rather than a rolling countdown after your invitation. Everything below was checked on 11 September 2026; the binding dates are always the ones in your own posting and invitation.

UK: further graduate and placement rolesNot published; roles going live in October 2026Complete the assessments as soon as possible after applying; applications close once enough successful candidates are foundOfficial source

The UK early-careers page invites candidates to register interest for roles going live in October, with graduate roles at £45,000 and no rotational programmes. Past UK Sales cycles ran on fixed deadlines with Commercial Career Academies weeks later, so expect published dates rather than an open window when the roles appear.

Third-party mirrors of expired P&G postings show the shape of a UK Sales cycle: a fixed application deadline, online assessments due about a week later, virtual interviews over the following weeks, then a two-day Commercial Career Academy (18 to 19 December 2025, 22 to 23 January 2026, 17 to 18 September 2026). These cycles are closed. Use them to anticipate the rhythm of the next one, not as open dates.

How to practice for the Procter & Gamble assessment

Two of the three Interactive Assessment tasks reward practice heavily and one rewards it less. The equation task is arithmetic speed with a constraint you can learn to exploit, and the branch logic task is a rule you can learn to apply backwards. The memory and spatial rounds are harder to move, because the interleaved puzzles are designed to disrupt your rehearsal of the dot positions; what improves there is a deliberate encoding strategy rather than raw effort.

Do not prepare for the Peak Performance Assessment the way you would prepare for a test. P&G says there are no right or wrong answers and it measures compatibility against its own factors. Answer consistently, and spend the time you would have wasted on it rehearsing interview examples instead.

Our practice scores track your own improvement. P&G publishes no cutoff, no pass rate and no statement that difficulty adapts, so treat any number you see quoted elsewhere as unsourced.

Step 1

Read the two official overview pages first

P&G publishes what each assessment contains, section by section. Fifteen minutes on its Interactive Assessment and Peak Performance Assessment pages removes every surprise about format, and it is more reliable than any third-party guide.

Step 2

Build a baseline on the three matching tasks

Play Digit Challenge, Switch Challenge and Grid Challenge once each to find which of the three formats is your weak point. Expect the equation task to feel fastest and the memory rounds to feel worst.

Step 3

Drill the equation task for constraint, not speed

Each digit is used once, so practice scanning for the most constrained gap and solving that first, and remember that multiplication resolves before addition and subtraction. Accuracy first, then compress the clock.

Step 4

Practice the branch rule backwards

The tube task has exactly one correct answer, which means it is solvable by elimination. Work from the output symbol back toward the entry point rather than tracing every path forward.

Step 5

Give the memory rounds a strategy

Encode dot positions as a shape or a pattern rather than as separate points, so the puzzle in between has less to erase. Three rounds of about 4 minutes means the task recovers after each one; a bad first round is not the whole score.

Step 6

Sit it in real conditions, in one go

Quiet room, laptop or phone charged, notifications off. You cannot return to a previous question, and P&G asks you to complete it alone without help from other people or AI, so build the habit of committing to an answer and moving on.

Step 7

Prepare interview examples separately

Write five Context, Actions, Results examples covering working with others, creating something new, adapting to change, recovering from a setback, and owning a result. Game practice does nothing for this, and P&G runs up to three interview rounds against it.

Step 8

Treat the 12-month rule as a reason not to rush

Scores are valid for 12 months and a failed attempt means waiting 12 months to try again. If your deadline gives you a week, spend part of it practicing rather than applying the same day.

Step 9

Check your invitation against this page

Sales applicants may get a Virtual Job Preview and plant roles a shorter battery. Your invitation names the exercises, the deadline and the device requirements; follow it over anything here.

Procter & Gamble assessment FAQ

Does P&G use Aon?

It is reported, not confirmed. P&G names no vendor on any of its careers pages. In April 2019, trade press quoting P&G’s own global assessment leader reported that P&G had adopted Aon’s Global Assessment and Talent Engine, and a second article that month restates that same account rather than reporting it independently. Aon’s P&G reference page and P&G case study both now redirect to generic Aon pages. What is verifiable today is that the three tasks P&G describes match the mechanics of Aon’s Digit, Switch and Grid challenges, which is why Aon-style practice is the closest fit.

What is the P&G Interactive Assessment?

P&G’s own page describes about 30 minutes of three timed tasks: roughly 6 minutes completing equations by filling gaps with the digits 1 to 9, each used once; roughly 6 minutes working out which branches symbols traveled through under a logic rule, where there is always one correct answer; and roughly 12 minutes across three rounds that mix remembering dot positions with judging mirror images, rotations, and elements added or removed. You cannot go back to a previous question.

How long is the P&G assessment?

P&G puts the whole assessment stage at 20 to 60 minutes and says some sections are timed. The Peak Performance Assessment is about 20 minutes and a Canadian posting describes it as not timed; the Interactive Assessment is about 30 minutes with per-task durations of roughly 6, 6 and 12 minutes. Sales applicants may instead sit a Sales Virtual Job Preview of about 60 minutes.

Is there a pass mark for the P&G assessment, and does it get harder as you go?

P&G publishes no pass rate, cut score or percentile threshold, and says nothing about difficulty adapting to your performance. Figures like a sub-20-percent pass rate come from prep sites with no primary source behind them. What P&G does say is that for most roles the results automatically determine whether your application moves forward, that results arrive by email within 30 days, and that scores stay valid for 12 months.

How long do I have to complete it, and what happens if I fail?

P&G sets calendar deadlines in its postings rather than a countdown from your invitation: the Brussels Masterclass, for example, required both assessments to be complete by 4 November 2026 for a 17 November event. We have found no primary source for the 72-hour window that prep sites quote, so use the date in your own posting. If you do not pass, P&G says you can try again after 12 months, and scores are valid for 12 months in the other direction too, so a good result carries to later applications. That is why it is worth practicing before the first sitting rather than treating it as a trial run.

Does P&G use HireVue, a recorded video interview, or AI scoring?

We found no evidence of any of the three. P&G names no video platform on any page or posting, and a search across P&G postings returned no mentions of HireVue; European event tracks describe a first video interview with a P&G colleague, which reads as a live conversation. On AI, P&G says the opposite: it states that it does not use AI in its online assessments, and its Canadian postings say it does not use artificial intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants. P&G also asks you not to use AI yourself, since assessments and interviews must be completed alone without real-time help.

Game Assessment Prep is independent and is not affiliated with Procter & Gamble or HireVue. Employer processes can change by program, role, country, and recruiting cycle.
