The KPIT campus hiring process, explained

The one task with support across drives. Named "motion challenge" in the September 2023 report, described in August 2023 as "a game in which we need to get the red ball into the black hole in minimum steps", listed as "Motion Challenge (6 min)" in November 2024, and included as "motion challenges" among the three capabilities tested in the November 2025 drive. Four drives, four descriptions of the same thing. It is a sliding-block planning game: route the ball to the hole in as few moves as possible by shifting the obstacles around it. The scoring instruction is fewest moves, so plan the whole route before touching a piece. A fast messy solve scores worse than a slower clean one.

Named in one September 2023 report and nowhere else. That report lists "grid challenge, switch challenge, motion challenge, digit challenge, and some data interpretation questions", and no KPIT report from 2024 or 2025 mentions it again, so treat it as one drive’s configuration rather than part of a standing battery. The game itself is a dual-task working-memory exercise: hold a sequence of dot positions in mind while answering symmetry or rotation judgments in between, then reproduce the dots in order. Worth one practice pass so the controls are not new to you.

From the same single September 2023 report, with no corroboration in any later drive. Four symbols pass through a switch and you choose which of three four-digit position codes rearranges them into the output shown. Later items chain two switches together. The technique is to number the input positions 1 to 4 and read the output row back as positions; the code then writes itself instead of needing to be guessed.

Also from the single September 2023 report, and the weakest-supported of the four. Fill the blanks in a short equation using the digits 1 to 9, each once, so the equation reaches its target. It is arithmetic under a constraint rather than digit recall, so start from whichever operator restricts the answer most, usually a multiplication before an addition, and let the remaining blanks follow from it.

Described in August 2023 as "a game in which there were some shapes that need to be filled in every row and column" with no shape repeated in a row or column, and consistent with the "deductive reasoning" task in the November 2025 drive. This looks like one of Aon’s non-game reasoning tests rather than a challenge game, and no candidate identifies it by name, so we have no simulator and are not going to point you at a game that only half matches. Prepare it on paper instead: 4x4 and 5x5 Latin-square grids, filling the rows and columns that have fewest empty cells first and reasoning from what a cell cannot be.

Candidates loosely call this a "graph-based game", but it is a data-interpretation item set and worth treating as one. Reported four times: "some graphs and pie charts on the basis of which we need to say the answer is Yes, No, and Cannot Say" (August 2023), "data interpretation questions" (September 2023), a "Graph-Based Game (6 min)" (November 2024), and "graph and chart-based problem-solving" (November 2025). The discipline is the third option: if the chart does not contain what you need to decide, the answer is Cannot Say, not your best guess. Read axis labels and units before you read the statement, because most errors here are unit and period errors rather than arithmetic.
