The Haleon application process, explained

What Haleon actually sends UK early-careers applicants, why there are no games to practice, the one dated action currently open, and what to prepare instead.

By the Game Assessment Prep research teamUpdated September 11, 2026How we research

The Haleon interview rounds at a glance

  1. 1Online application — A form on either the GSK-inherited Workday tenant or the newer careers.haleon.com site. Haleon's posting text says information is required regarding your education and Right to Work; Haleon UK states it does not sponsor undergraduates and graduates for UK right to work. The dates that matter
  2. 2Behavior-based online assessment — Haleon's exact and only wording is "a behaviour based online assessment/interview". No games, no timed cognitive battery and no vendor are named anywhere. The wording "assessment/interview" may mean this and the video stage are one combined product. Why there are no games here
  3. 3One-way (pre-recorded) video interview — Haleon says you receive a link to an online interview focusing on your motivation for joining Haleon and the transferable skills you bring; the Early Talent team screens it. Candidates report it runs on HireVue with roughly four to five competency questions, about a minute to prepare and two to three minutes to answer, and around five days to complete it.Practice recorded answers
  4. 4Virtual competency interview — Haleon's wording: a competency-based interview which may include a case study or technical exercise. This is the final stage — no source describes an in-person assessment center with group exercises.
  5. 5Outcome — Haleon states candidates receive an outcome within two weeks following the interview.

What games are in the Haleon assessment?

There is nothing to practice here, and we would rather say so than fill the section. Haleon issues no game-based assessment at any stage of its UK early-careers process: its own adverts name no game and no vendor, and its candidate privacy notice names no assessment processor at all. The rows below exist to close off the three wrong turns people take on their way to this page — the HireVue name, the "personality/cognitive assessment" phrasing that circulates in search summaries, and the assumption that an Indian campus route must involve an aptitude test. Your preparation time belongs in the video interview and the competency interview instead.

No game-based assessment is used, on all the evidence we can find

Category practice

No evidence found

Haleon's four published stages are an application form, a "behaviour based" online assessment, a one-way video interview and a virtual competency interview. None of them is a game. We checked for pymetrics, Arctic Shores, Aon/cut-e, SHL, Criteria and HireVue game batteries by name and found nothing in any official page or candidate report, and Haleon's candidate privacy notice names no assessment processor. Practicing a game battery for Haleon would be preparing for something no evidence suggests exists.

The HireVue reports describe the video tool, not HireVue games

Category practice

Single source

This is the single most common way people end up practicing the wrong thing. HireVue sells a video-interview product and, separately, a battery of cognitive games. Candidates who name HireVue at Haleon are describing questions, preparation time and retakes — the video tool. No Haleon candidate anywhere reports playing numerosity, flashback, pathfinder or any other game. If your Haleon invitation links to HireVue, expect to record answers to a camera, not to play. Rehearse spoken answers instead: our mock interviews train the same one-minute-to-prepare, two-to-three-minutes-to-answer format.

The "cognitive assessment" claim you may have seen: not in any real source

Category practice

No evidence found

Aggregated search summaries assert that Haleon "frequently uses pre-recorded or virtual interviews and personality/cognitive assessments". That phrase appears in no document we were able to fetch — not in Haleon's adverts, not in its privacy notice, not in any candidate report. It is an aggregator writing plausible-sounding filler, and "cognitive assessment" is one careless step from "cognitive games", which is how a false claim about Haleon would get started. Haleon's only official word for that stage is "behaviour based". We are not repeating the rest.

Source: Phrase traced to aggregated search summaries only; absent from every fetched source

Good to know: If your Haleon invitation does name a game or a timed test, believe the invitation over this page and tell us — employers change configuration by role, region and cycle, and the UK early-careers evidence here would not necessarily cover it. One specific warning: searching for an aptitude test attached to Haleon's India Graduate Management Trainee programme returns results for HAL, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, which is an entirely different company with a genuine computer-based test. Those results have nothing to do with Haleon.

Who gets the Haleon assessment?

Haleon is the consumer-health company demerged from GSK in 2022 — Sensodyne, Panadol, Advil, Voltaren, Theraflu, Otrivin, Centrum. Its UK early-careers process is unusually easy to describe because Haleon prints it in its own job adverts, and the same four-stage wording appears word for word across a graduate programme posting and an industrial-placement posting, which tells you it is standard UK text rather than something specific to one role.

The useful finding is a negative one. Every stage Haleon describes is either a form, a "behaviour based" online step, or a conversation. No posting names a game, a timed cognitive test, or an assessment vendor. Haleon's own candidate privacy notice — the document a company is legally motivated to make complete — names no assessment processor whatsoever; it mentions only "interviews and exercises during the recruitment process" and recordings of video-enabled interviews. If Haleon ran a game battery through a third party, that notice is where it would have to appear.

One platform name does circulate, and it needs handling carefully. Candidates on Glassdoor describe the one-way video stage as a HireVue. HireVue sells two very different products: a video-interview tool, and a battery of cognitive games. Every candidate description here is of the video tool — questions, preparation time, retakes. Nobody reports playing anything. Treat the name as a report about the video stage only, and note that we could not open those reviews directly, so even that is unconfirmed.

Scope matters on this page. All of the process evidence is UK, from roles based at London Bankside and Weybridge St Georges. Haleon itself says its process varies by position and location and that early-talent programs vary by region and country. The Graduate Management Trainee programme in Gurgaon, the Commex Trainee role in Mexico City, and the internships in Ireland, China, Belgium, Spain and Germany are separate routes whose stages no source we could fetch describes at all. Do not assume the UK four stages apply to them.

Commercial Associate Graduate Programme (UK)

A two-year rotational graduate programme across Sales, Marketing and Commercial Excellence, based in the City of London. The 2026 intake was advertised at £35,000 a year plus a London travel allowance with a September start. A parallel Commercial Associate programme has also been advertised for Dublin, though its stage list was not separately verified. This posting is one of the two sources for Haleon's four-stage UK wording.

UK Industrial Placements (12 months, typically a July start)

A wide family of undergraduate placements at London Bankside and Weybridge St Georges — Business & Marketing, Finance, Global Expert Marketing, Consumer Insights & Analytics, Electrical Engineering, Process and Mechanical Engineering, Automation & Digital Engineering, R&D Development Scientist, R&D Analytical Scientist, Business Development and M&A, and Environment Health & Safety. The Electrical Engineering placement was advertised at £27,008 a year. All carry the identical four-stage process, which is how we know the wording is Haleon's UK standard and not programme-specific.

Register Your Interest: Early Talent UK Opportunities, 2027

Haleon's official expression-of-interest requisition (540127, posted 14 July 2026, end date 25 September 2026) covering both Industrial Placements and Graduate Programmes in London and Weybridge St Georges for a summer 2027 start. Haleon states plainly that it is not a job application and that it will reach out when the opportunities are ready to apply for later this year. Worth reading for what it does not contain: no assessment, test, game or platform is described anywhere in it. The only recruitment mechanics named are an adjustments mailbox and a warning that Haleon recruiters contact candidates only from @haleon.com addresses.

Other UK graduate routes

A Procurement Graduate Programme has been advertised for 2026 UK entry alongside the Commercial Associate route, and a QSC Graduate: Engineering programme — a two-year rotation in Quality, Supply Chain and Manufacturing — appears on Haleon's own careers site for a September 2026 start. We are naming these programmes only. Their individual stage lists were not independently confirmed, so assume the standard UK four stages unless your own posting says otherwise.

Single source

Source: Programme titles only; process not confirmed for these two routes

Non-UK routes: separate programmes, process not established

Haleon runs a 12-month Graduate Management Trainee programme in Gurgaon, India for MBA graduates (an initial sales stint followed by two or three rotations), a Commex Trainee role in Mexico City, internships in Shanghai, Zaventem and Madrid, and a Working Student route in Munich. No source we could fetch describes the selection stages for any of them. In particular there is no evidence of an aptitude test, campus test or game round in the India programme, and you should not assume one from what other multinationals do on Indian campuses. Haleon's Bengaluru campus is a global capability center hiring experienced staff, not an early-careers pipeline.

How does the Haleon assessment work?

There are no games, and that is the answer this page exists to give

No evidence found

No Haleon posting, and no candidate report we found, describes a game, a gamified exercise or a timed cognitive battery at any stage. We searched specifically for pymetrics, Arctic Shores, Aon/cut-e, SHL, Criteria and HireVue game assessments at Haleon and found nothing. If you have been sent practice for numerosity, flashback, pathfinder or any similar game "for Haleon", that recommendation is not based on anything Haleon has published.

Haleon's candidate privacy notice names no assessment processor at all

Official source

This is the strongest negative evidence available. A candidate privacy notice is where a company has to disclose the third parties that process applicant data. Haleon's names no assessment vendor — no HireVue, no pymetrics, no Arctic Shores, no SHL, no Aon or cut-e, no Criteria. It refers only to conducting "interviews and exercises during the recruitment process", and to audio and video recordings of telephone or video-enabled interviews. The recording language lines up with the reported one-way video stage; the total absence of any game or psychometric processor is why we rate "no games" as an official finding rather than a guess.

The four stages come from Haleon's own advert text, twice over

Official source

Haleon prints its selection process in its adverts: Application (education and Right to Work), Online Assessment ("a behaviour based online assessment/interview"), One-Way Video Interview (motivation and transferable skills, screened by the Early Talent team), and Interview (virtual, competency-based, which may include a case study or technical exercise), with an outcome within two weeks. The identical wording appears on both a graduate posting and an engineering industrial-placement posting, which is why we treat it as Haleon's standard UK text rather than one recruiter's phrasing.

Source: Two Haleon postings reprinted verbatim (StudySmarter Talents)

What "behaviour based online assessment/interview" probably means — and what we will not claim

Official source

Haleon's only official description of stage two is those five words. "Behaviour based" points at a behavioral or personality questionnaire, not a cognitive or aptitude test, and no fetched source describes anything timed, numerical, verbal or logical. Candidate accounts of its length conflict — one graduate describes an online personality assessment taking at least an hour — so we are not stating a format. Note too that Haleon wrote "assessment/interview" with a slash: it is entirely possible that stage two and the video interview are one combined product rather than two separate sittings, which would explain some of the conflicting accounts.

Source: Haleon posting text reprinted verbatim; format otherwise unconfirmed

The HireVue name is a candidate report about the video stage, and it is single-source

Single source

Candidates on Glassdoor report that the one-way video stage runs on HireVue, with roughly four to five competency questions, about a minute to prepare and two to three minutes to answer each, up to two or three retakes, and about five days to complete it after the online assessment. Haleon has never named the platform, its privacy notice names no video vendor, and we could not open the underlying reviews directly — the page returns 403 and what reached us was search snippets of that one page. Several reviewers inside one inaccessible page is one source, not corroboration. Treat this as unconfirmed. What is not in doubt is that every one of those descriptions is of a video interview: nobody reports playing a game.

Eightfold and Workday are candidate systems, not assessments

Official source

Haleon runs two candidate systems: careers.haleon.com is built on Eightfold AI, while legacy early-talent requisitions still sit on the Workday tenant inherited from GSK (gsknch.wd3.myworkdayjobs.com). Neither is an assessment. Eightfold does CV matching and ranking on the careers site; Workday is an applicant tracking system. We flag them only because seeing an unfamiliar platform name in a careers URL leads people to assume they are about to be tested by it. You are not.

Source: Haleon Workday requisition 540127 (tenant confirmed); careers-site platform observed in page configuration

There is no assessment center

Official source

Haleon's final stage is a virtual competency interview that may include a case study or technical exercise. No Haleon posting and no candidate report we found describes a traditional in-person assessment center with group exercises, in-trays or a presentation round to a peer group. If you are budgeting preparation time, do not spend it on group-exercise technique.

What happens in the Haleon hiring process?

The UK early-careers process, in Haleon's own words

Haleon prints this in its adverts, and the same wording appears on both graduate and industrial-placement postings.

  1. 1Apply. The form asks for information regarding your education and Right to Work. Haleon UK does not sponsor undergraduates and graduates for UK right to work.
  2. 2Complete a behaviour based online assessment/interview. Haleon names no vendor, no games and no timings. The slash in its own wording leaves open that this and the video stage are one combined step.
  3. 3Complete the one-way video interview. Haleon says it focuses on your motivation for joining Haleon and the transferable skills you will bring to the role, and that the Early Talent team screens it. Candidates report about five days to complete it once invited.
  4. 4Attend the virtual interview: competency-based, which may include a case study or technical exercise. This is the last stage — there is no separate assessment center.
  5. 5Receive an outcome within two weeks following the interview.

Source: Haleon posting text reprinted verbatim (StudySmarter Talents)

What the one-way video interview covers

Two of these themes are Haleon's own words; the rest come from candidate reports of a single Glassdoor page and are unconfirmed.

  1. 1Your motivation for joining Haleon specifically — named in Haleon's posting text, so it is the one question you can be confident about.
  2. 2The transferable skills you will bring to the role — also named in Haleon's own text.
  3. 3Why consumer health, and why this programme rather than a competitor's.
  4. 4Competency questions on teamwork and problem solving, reported by placement candidates.
  5. 5A closing question about Haleon itself. Candidates report being asked what they know about the company and its brands, and advise having notes on the business ready before you record.
  6. 6What you hope to get out of the placement or programme.

Source: Haleon posting text for the first two themes; Glassdoor candidate snippets for the rest

What the final virtual interview covers

Haleon publishes four behaviors, and candidate accounts describe them being used as the interview frame. Prepare an example for each.

  1. 1Consumer first always — a time you started from what the end user actually needed rather than from your own plan.
  2. 2Collaborate for impact — cross-functional work, and influencing people who did not report to you.
  3. 3Unlock value at pace — competing priorities, ambiguity, and a decision you made without complete information.
  4. 4Grow myself and others — feedback you acted on, and someone you helped get better.
  5. 5Expect past-behavior questions rather than hypotheticals: "tell me about a time", not "what would you do".
  6. 6A case study or technical exercise where the role calls for one. Candidates report data-analysis-and-present-insights tasks in analytical roles and a technical presentation to a scientist panel in senior R&D roles. Experienced hires report a recruiter screen, then a manager round, then a senior-leader or panel round.

When is the Haleon assessment?

Checked 11 September 2026. There is exactly one dated action open right now, and it is not an application. A live search of Haleon's Workday tenant on that date returned no open UK graduate or industrial-placement requisitions — only the register-your-interest entry. The 2027 cycle had not opened.

Haleon's official requisition 540127 was posted 14 July 2026 with an end date of 25 September 2026. It covers Industrial Placements and Graduate Programmes in London and Weybridge St Georges for a summer 2027 start. Haleon states explicitly that this is not a job application and that it will contact registrants when the real openings launch. It is a low-cost way to be told when applications open, and nothing more.

Haleon says the 2027 roles open "later this year" — its wording, not ours. Nothing more specific has been published, and we are not going to invent a month for it. As of 11 September 2026 no live UK graduate or industrial-placement requisition existed on Haleon's Workday tenant. Watch for the openings after the registration window closes, and expect the same four-stage process unless Haleon says otherwise.

For the 2026 intake, Haleon's postings stated interviews would be held in November and December 2025, with placements starting July 2026 and the Commercial Associate graduate cohort starting September 2026. That puts the online assessment and video stages in roughly October and November. Use this as the historical rhythm of the cycle — how quickly the stages follow one another — and not as a date to act on.

How to practice for the Haleon assessment

Because there are no games, all of your preparation time goes into two conversations: a recorded one and a live one. That is unusual and it is good news — spoken answers respond to rehearsal far more reliably than cognitive games respond to practice.

The two highest-value things you can do are both cheap. First, record yourself answering "why Haleon" and "what transferable skills do you bring" under a two-minute clock, because Haleon names those two themes in its own advert and they are the only questions you can be genuinely confident about. Second, learn the business properly — candidates report a closing video question about the company and its brands, and Haleon's portfolio is unusually easy to revise.

Step 1

Do not prepare for games

No stage of Haleon's UK early-careers process is a game. If you have a HireVue link, it is for recording answers, not for playing. Time spent on n-back, digit span or balloon-pumping practice for Haleon is time taken from the two interviews that actually decide the outcome.

Step 2

Rehearse the two questions Haleon names itself

Haleon's own text says the video interview focuses on your motivation for joining Haleon and the transferable skills you will bring. Write and rehearse both. For motivation, be specific about consumer health rather than generic about a big company: what changes when the product is bought off a shelf rather than prescribed.

Step 3

Practice the recorded format, not just the content

Candidates report roughly four to five questions with about a minute to prepare and two to three minutes to answer, and up to two or three retakes. That is a distinct skill: finishing a structured answer inside two minutes with no interviewer nodding you along. Run our mock interviews once under a timer before the real thing so the first recording you make is not the one Haleon watches.

Step 4

Prepare one example per Haleon behavior

Consumer first always; Collaborate for impact; Unlock value at pace; Grow myself and others. Four examples, each a specific situation with a result you can quantify. Haleon's stated view is that the best indicator of the future is the past, so lead with what you actually did rather than what you would do.

Step 5

Learn the brand portfolio before you record

Sensodyne, Panadol, Advil, Voltaren, Theraflu, Otrivin and Centrum are Haleon's named category-leading brands. Candidates report a closing question on what you know about the company. Know which categories Haleon leads, which brands sit in them, and one thing about the 2022 demerger from GSK — and have a note beside you, since it is a recorded interview, not a live one.

Step 6

Ask for adjustments early if you need them

Haleon's 2027 requisition names an early-talent recruitment mailbox for adjustments. Raise anything you need before the assessment link is issued, not after the clock has started.

Step 7

Check the sender address

Haleon's own requisition warns that its recruiters contact candidates only from @haleon.com addresses. Any Haleon "assessment" arriving from somewhere else — especially one asking for payment or personal financial details — is not from Haleon.

Step 8

Treat your invitation as the final word

Everything on this page is UK early careers as described in Haleon's 2026-intake adverts. Process varies by position and location, and Haleon says so. The email in your inbox describes what you are actually sitting and by when.

Haleon assessment FAQ

Does Haleon use game-based assessments?

No. Haleon's own job postings describe only a "behaviour based online assessment/interview" with no games and no named vendor, and its candidate privacy notice names no assessment processor at all. We also searched specifically for pymetrics, Arctic Shores, Aon/cut-e, SHL and Criteria at Haleon and found nothing. There is no game battery to practice.

Does Haleon use HireVue?

Candidates on Glassdoor report that the one-way video stage runs on HireVue. Haleon has never named the platform and we could not open the underlying reviews directly, so treat this as unconfirmed. Crucially, every one of those reports describes a video interview — recording answers to questions — not HireVue's cognitive games. Nobody reports playing anything at Haleon.

What is the Haleon online assessment?

Haleon calls it "a behaviour based online assessment/interview" and says nothing more. That wording points to a behavioral or personality questionnaire rather than a cognitive or aptitude test, and no source describes anything timed, numerical or logical. Candidate accounts of its length conflict, and because Haleon wrote "assessment/interview" with a slash, it is possible this stage and the video interview are a single combined step.

How many stages are in the Haleon process?

Four, then an outcome: application, a behavior-based online assessment, a one-way video interview, and a virtual competency-based interview that may include a case study or technical exercise. Haleon states an outcome follows within two weeks of the interview. The identical wording appears on both graduate and industrial-placement postings, so it is Haleon's standard UK text.

Is there a Haleon assessment center?

Not that any source describes. The final stage is a virtual competency interview, and no Haleon posting or candidate report mentions an in-person assessment center with group exercises. Do not spend preparation time on group-exercise technique.

When do Haleon 2027 applications open?

Haleon has not published a date. Its register-your-interest requisition for UK Early Talent 2027 closes 25 September 2026 and says the real openings launch "later this year". As of 11 September 2026 a live search of Haleon's Workday tenant showed no open UK graduate or industrial-placement roles, so registering is currently the only action available.

Does the Haleon India graduate programme have an aptitude test?

No source we could fetch describes the selection process for Haleon's Graduate Management Trainee programme in Gurgaon at all, so we cannot tell you — and we will not assume one from what other multinationals do. Be careful searching: results for "HAL" refer to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, a completely different company that does run a computer-based test. Everything on this page is UK early careers, and Haleon states its process varies by position and location.

What should I prepare for Haleon instead of games?

Two things. Recorded answers to "why Haleon" and "what transferable skills do you bring" — Haleon names both in its own advert — under a two-minute clock. And one competency example for each of Haleon's four behaviors: Consumer first always, Collaborate for impact, Unlock value at pace, Grow myself and others. Add a revision pass on the brand portfolio, since candidates report a closing question about the company.
