There is no game-based assessment at Citi
Official sourceCiti's own early-careers page lays out all five stages and the only assessment among them is a survey or a coding test. No official Citi page, no vendor case study and no candidate report we could find describes a game, a gamified battery, or an assessment that asks you to inflate balloons, press keys, or sort shapes against a clock. This is a negative finding, and negative findings are only as strong as the searching behind them — we searched specifically for pymetrics, Arctic Shores, Aon and cut-e at Citi, adversarially, and came back empty across every source we fetched.

The assessment step, in Citi's own words
Official sourceStage two of Citi's published process reads: "Take a skills discovery survey for EMEA and global Services programs, or complete an assessment to confirm your coding skills for programs in Tech." Two routes, split by program rather than by preference. EMEA and global Services applicants get the survey; Technology applicants get the coding assessment. Citi does not say what the equivalent step is for US or APAC non-Services programs, so we make no claim there.

Who builds the survey is not confirmed, and prep sites disagree three ways
Single sourceCiti names no vendor. Citi's phrase "skills discovery survey" does closely match the product name of Plum's Discovery Survey — a psychometric questionnaire, not games — and one prep site describes Citi's version in consistent detail: four sections covering priorities and preferences, a short problem-solving set, a self-descriptor with situational scenarios, and social interaction, untimed at around 25 minutes. But that page carries no citation and no link to any Citi or Plum documentation, no Plum case study names Citi, and other prep sites name a different vendor entirely — one headlines "Plum Assessments" while saying the test is powered by Korn Ferry Talent Q, another names Talent Q Elements, a third offers Plum or Talent Q. Three mutually exclusive vendors for one stage is not corroboration, it is copying. Treat the vendor as unknown.

The pymetrics claim, traced to its source
No evidence foundA search snippet circulating for Citi reads "Citi uses Pymetrics as part of their interview process, alongside other platforms such as HireVue and Sonru." Fetch the page behind it and those three names are that prep site's own practice simulators — a list of products it sells, not a list of Citi's vendors. The snippet collapsed a product menu into a claim of fact. If you were sent a Citi invitation naming pymetrics, that would change this page; nothing in the public record does.

Citi's own process page lists no recorded video interview
Single sourceSeveral third-party guides describe a recorded stage of roughly three to five behavioral and situational questions, answered with no live interviewer inside a short completion window. Citi's five-stage process page does not list one. It may be folded into "First Interview" for some programs, or used only in certain regions or divisions — we could not resolve it. Vendor attribution splits irreconcilably between two platforms across sources and Citi names neither, so we name neither. One of the more careful aggregator guides puts it plainly in its own words: Citi describes its hiring stages on its own early-careers pages, but names no vendor for the assessment or the video.

The Technology route is a coding test, platform unnamed
Single sourceCiti confirms that Technology programs "complete an assessment to confirm your coding skills" and stops there. Candidate-aggregator sources variously claim three different coding platforms; none is confirmed by Citi and the source naming one of them could not even be fetched. What is worth preparing is the format rather than the brand: expect timed problems and, in interviews, output-prediction and bug-finding exercises alongside a larger design or implementation problem.

India campus drives are a separate route — and still have no games
Multiple sourcesOn-campus Analyst drives in India do not follow the EMEA and US early-careers spine. Two independent candidate write-ups describe Round 1 as an online test on the SHL (AMCAT) platform with roughly five sectionally-timed parts — verbal and English, quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, CS-subject multiple choice, and a coding section with two problems — with no navigation between sections and no negative marking, followed by a techno-HR interview and a hiring-manager round. Both accounts explicitly describe no games and no video stage. Date them honestly: those reports are from 2022 and 2023, and we found no recent India campus evidence, so treat the route as reported-then rather than confirmed-now.

The final stage genuinely varies, and Citi says so
Official sourceCiti's own wording is that the final stage "will consist of either multiple interviews, an assessment or a case study exercise" depending on program and location. Candidate reports fill in the shapes: US banking candidates describe a Superday of back-to-back 30 to 45 minute interviews with VPs and MDs, sometimes with a case study or a timed modeling exercise; UK graduate reports describe an assessment centre with a group case exercise, an individual presentation and competency interviews. The variation is not prep-site confusion — it is Citi's stated design.

Citi publishes no pass rate, and neither do we
No evidence foundA figure claiming Citi assessments screen out 50 to 80 percent of applicants circulates on the same prep page that misattributes the vendors. It is unsourced. Citi publishes no pass rates, no benchmark and no scoring model for any stage, and we will not invent one.
