The Boeing hiring process, explained

Which Boeing rounds are actually evidenced, why the "Boeing game assessment" pages you have seen name no games, the region-by-region calendar, and where to practice the parts that are real.

By the Game Assessment Prep research teamUpdated September 11, 2026How we research

The Boeing interview rounds at a glance

  1. 1Online application — Apply at jobs.boeing.com through a Careers at Boeing account. Boeing states that interviews and offers "will not be extended without first creating a profile and submitting a job application". Requisitions carry their own closing dates rather than one global deadline.Deadlines by region
  2. 2Standardized assessment — only if your role requires one — Boeing’s FAQ says only that you will be informed if your position requires a standardized assessment. Boeing never names a vendor, a test or a game on any of its own pages, and the stage is explicitly conditional on the role. What is and is not evidenced
  3. 3Recorded video round — reported on early-career and high-volume roles — Candidates describe a one-way recorded round arriving as an emailed link, roughly five behavioral and situational questions, often before speaking to a recruiter. Boeing runs a branded HireVue tenant, though aggregators note the round is "not universal".Boeing interview questions Practice recorded answers
  4. 4Online assessment for entry-level software roles — One candidate account describes an OA of one basic coding question plus two recorded video questions — a video about themselves and fit, and a recorded explanation of the coding solution. That account does not name the platform.
  5. 5Recruiter or phone screen — A short conversation on background, degree alignment, eligibility — including US Person and clearance status for many roles — and motivation. Reported at roughly 15 to 30 minutes.
  6. 6Panel interview — Boeing’s own guide: "you’ll meet with an interview team or panel of two to four people", Boeing employees or partners, possibly a subject matter expert, a hiring leader or a customer. Virtual over Microsoft Teams or in person. What the panel asks
  7. 7Skills demonstration, where the role calls for one — Case studies, coding challenges in a "virtual playground" or "whiteboard", or presentations. Boeing says your recruiter tells you in advance if any of these will be present.
  8. 8Offer, background check, drug screen and clearance — Postings state drug screening upon offer, US citizenship for security clearance positions, and US Person status under export control (22 C.F.R. § 120.15). Boeing UK notes most programmes require security vetting.

What games are in the Boeing assessment?

There is no Boeing game lineup on this page, because no source names one. That is the honest finding, and it is worth spelling out rather than burying: every "Boeing game assessment" page we opened named zero game titles and cited zero candidates. What Boeing candidates actually report is a recorded video round and, for technical roles, a coding task. The routes below are category practice for the platform Boeing is confirmed to use, not a claim about what Boeing sends you.

Game-based assessment: not confirmed for Boeing

Category practice

No evidence found

No source names a single HireVue game for Boeing — not Boeing, not any candidate report we could read, not even the prep sites that sell "Boeing game assessment" practice. The largest of those pages excuses its own emptiness by saying the games are "proprietary"; another is an undated 2023 edition. Meanwhile the two most detailed first-hand sources — a question bank built from Boeing candidate reports, and a software engineering candidate walking through their online assessment item by item — describe no games at all. Building your preparation around a Boeing game lineup means preparing for something nothing evidences.

HireVue’s platform in general (category practice only)

Category practice

Multiple sources

Boeing is a confirmed HireVue customer, so if you want to know what HireVue’s game-based assessments feel like in general — short adaptive cognitive exercises rather than aptitude questions — our HireVue hub covers the format. Read it as background on the vendor, not as Boeing’s battery: Boeing’s configuration is undocumented, and it is entirely possible your Boeing assessment contains no games at all. Spend your preparation time on recorded answers and, for technical roles, on basic coding, which is what Boeing candidates actually describe.

Practice HireVue’s platform in general (category practice only)
Good to know: Nothing on this page is a confirmed Boeing game assessment, because no source names one. Boeing is a HireVue customer and candidates report a recorded video round; a game battery is a separate claim that no evidence supports. Your invitation email is the only document that tells you whether you are being assessed at all and what the exercises are called. If yours names games, tell us and this page gets tightened the same week.

Who gets the Boeing assessment?

Boeing is one of the hardest large employers to write about honestly, because the evidence splits cleanly in two. On one side, Boeing publishes an unusual amount about its interviews: an official 13-page Interview Preparation Guide that names the panel size, teaches the STAR framework with a worked example, and lists the skills demonstrations a recruiter may announce. On the other side, Boeing publishes almost nothing about assessments. Its careers FAQ says only that "you will be informed if the position you applied for requires a standardized assessment", and no Boeing page anywhere names a vendor, a test or a game.

What fills that gap is candidate testimony and vendor infrastructure. Boeing operates a live, branded HireVue tenant at boeing.hirevue.com — we fetched its signup page directly and it returns HTTP 200, exposing HireVue account id 202051, a Boeing theme and logo. Multiple independent candidate posts describe a recorded HireVue prescreen on early-career and high-volume requisitions. That is enough to state the vendor relationship as fact, and enough to state the recorded round as widely reported. It is not enough to say every Boeing applicant sits one: Boeing’s own FAQ makes any assessment conditional on the role, and the most careful aggregator we read calls the round "frequently reported... but it is not universal".

The claim this page refuses to make is the one you were probably sent here for. Search "Boeing game assessment" and you will find prep pages promising two or three HireVue games. Every one of them collapses when you open it: the largest names zero game titles and excuses itself by calling Boeing’s games "proprietary", another is an undated 2023 edition sourced to "extensive online research", and the two most detailed first-hand accounts we could read — a mock-interview question bank built from candidate reports, and a software engineering candidate describing their online assessment question by question — mention no games at all. So this page carries no Boeing game lineup. Nothing we found supports one.

A last scoping note. Boeing runs genuinely separate early-careers pipelines by region, and they do not share a calendar or a stage list. US internships, UK graduate rotations, Australian graduate registration, a German-sited European program and Indian campus drives are five different processes, and only the US one is where the recorded round is consistently reported.

Boeing Summer Internship Program (US)

Paid 10-12 week summer internships across engineering, business, IT and program management, open to students currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with an anticipated graduation date after the internship; a GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred. Requisitions are posted individually with their own closing dates — a live Summer 2027 Program Management posting in Arlington states "Applications for this position will be accepted until Oct. 23, 2026" and requires graduation on or after August 2027. Boeing does not sponsor employment visas for these roles, and most carry US Person and export-control requirements.

United Kingdom Graduate Rotation Programme (UKG)

A rotational two-year scheme consisting of four six-month placements across Finance, Commercial, Project Management, Engineering, Supply Chain and Digital Services. Boeing notes candidates "need not apply immediately after graduation, as the programmes are designed for those in the early stages of their career". No visa sponsorship, and most programmes require security vetting. This is the pipeline where Boeing’s own stage wording — online application, video interview, virtual engagement day — comes from.

Official source

UK Apprenticeship Programme (UKA)

Apprenticeships running 18 months to three years (Boeing’s entry-level calendar lists up to four years) across nine UK locations, covering Aircraft Maintenance, Fabrication, Flight Services, Business Administration and IT. Boeing states it has "more than 80 apprentices at various sites around the UK". The Aircraft Maintenance route places year one with a training partner, with accommodation provided, and years two and three on the job.

Australia Graduate Programme (AUSG)

A two-year development program based in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Amberley and Williamtown. Uniquely among Boeing’s programs it has no fixed published application window: Boeing directs candidates to "register your interest in the AUSG program on Prosple (formerly Grad Australia). You’ll receive notification when applications are open." The stage sequence for Australian graduate hiring is not documented anywhere we could read.

Continental Europe Graduate Program (EUG)

A two-year program at three German locations: Neu-Isenburg, Norderstedt/Ulzburg and Munich. Its calendar is offset roughly six months from the UK and US cycles — information sessions in March, interviews in April and May, offers in June.

Information Technology Career Foundation Program (ITCFP)

A two-year leadership development program in Missouri, South Carolina and Washington. This is the externally open Career Foundation Program, with a published window of applications July to September, interviews September to November and offers November to December.

Finance Career Foundation Program (FCFP)

A two-year rotational program in Arizona, Missouri and Washington. Boeing’s calendar lists interviews and offers in the fall.

Career Foundation Programs that are not open externally

Three of the nine programs on Boeing’s entry-level page are closed to outside applicants, which matters if you are planning a route in. The Engineering Career Foundation Program (ECFP, two years across the US, UK, India and Australia) and the Quality Career Foundation Program (QCFP, two years across Alabama, Missouri, South Carolina, Texas and Washington) are, in Boeing’s words, "only available to current Boeing employees". The Human Resources Career Foundation Program (HRCFP, three years in Missouri, South Carolina and Washington) is "only available to current Boeing interns" — so the internship is the entry point to it.

India: a separate campus route, on dated evidence

Boeing lists India among ECFP locations and runs India internship applications from October to February, but the only primary account of Boeing India campus hiring we could read describes a 2022 cycle: an offline, on-campus aptitude test of 20 multiple-choice questions (profit and loss, simple interest, averages, clocks, trains, logarithms), no coding for the internship route and one coding question for full-time, then an in-person panel of five interviewers focused on resume projects and OOP fundamentals. No video assessment and no games appear in that account. Whether it still holds four years later is unverified — do not assume the Indian campus route runs through HireVue.

How does the Boeing assessment work?

Boeing is a HireVue customer — that part is infrastructure, not rumor

Multiple sources

Boeing operates a live, branded HireVue tenant. We fetched https://boeing.hirevue.com/signup/ directly: HTTP 200, with the page source exposing HireVue account id 202051, a custom Boeing theme and logo endpoint, a tenant background image and a meta tag reading OpenVue-Mode "self-schedule". This is the strongest available evidence that Boeing uses HireVue, and it is independent of every prep site. One caveat worth stating: "self-schedule" describes interview scheduling, so the tenant proves the vendor relationship but does not by itself prove the one-way recorded product is configured. The recorded format rests on candidate reports instead.

Source: Boeing HireVue tenant signup page (HTTP 200, account 202051)

Boeing itself never names a vendor, and makes the assessment conditional

Official source

The whole of Boeing’s official position on assessments is one FAQ paragraph: "You will be informed if the position you applied for requires a standardized assessment. Assessments give candidates the opportunity to showcase their relevant skills and abilities, while also providing insight into the role and our work culture." No vendor, no test name, no game, and an explicit "if". Read that literally: many Boeing applicants sit nothing at all, and the only document that tells you whether you are one of them is your own invitation email.

Boeing’s official interview guide mentions no recorded round at all

Official source

We downloaded Boeing’s own 13-page Interview Preparation Guide and searched its full text. A case-insensitive search for HireVue, recorded, on-demand, one-way and game returns exactly zero hits, while "panel of two to four", "virtual playground", "whiteboard", Microsoft Teams, case studies, coding challenges and 22 mentions of STAR all appear. So Boeing’s own candidate-facing material describes live panel interviews and recruiter-announced skills demonstrations and nothing else. That is not proof the recorded round does not exist — candidate reports are clear that it does, for some roles — but it does tell you Boeing treats it as role-specific rather than as part of its standard published process.

The recorded round: reported, early careers, not universal

Multiple sources

Candidates describe a one-way recorded round that arrives as an emailed link rather than a scheduled call, sometimes before any recruiter conversation, with roughly five behavioral and situational questions, a short preparation window and a few minutes per answer. Independent posts name HireVue explicitly. The aggregator that describes Boeing’s process most carefully hedges in exactly the right place: the round is "frequently reported, especially on early-career and high-volume requisitions, but it is not universal". Treat it as likely if you are applying to an internship or a high-volume req, and as unknown otherwise.

Entry-level software roles: one coding question plus recorded video

Single source

The most detailed first-hand account of a Boeing online assessment we could read describes it as "1 coding question and 2 video questions" — a video about themselves and fit, "a coding question that was basic string parsing / manipulation (I.e. find duplicate characters in a string, reverse a string, etc.) and then an explanation of my solution in a video". Worth being precise about two things. First, that account never names the platform, so do not assume HireVue delivered it. Second, it describes no games whatsoever. Boeing’s own guide separately confirms coding challenges can appear, delivered through a "virtual playground" or "whiteboard", with the recruiter notifying candidates in advance.

Boeing has not been confirmed to use game-based assessments

No evidence found

Boeing has not been confirmed to use HireVue’s game-based assessments. Candidate reports describe a recorded video round and, for technical roles, a coding task — not games. The prep sites that advertise "Boeing game assessments" name no game titles and cite no candidates: the largest of them says the games are "proprietary" and stops there, another is an undated 2023 edition whose stated authority is its own online research. A question bank assembled from Boeing candidate reports lists competency themes and mentions no games. The detailed software engineering account above mentions no games. If you have been told to practice a specific Boeing game lineup, ask whoever told you which source names it — we could not find one.

Aptitude and mechanical test claims are prep-site-only

No evidence found

Prep sites variously claim Boeing uses situational judgement, numerical, verbal and mechanical aptitude batteries, a mechanical test of 36 questions in 20 minutes, NOCTI tests for electronic technicians, and Ramsay mechanical tests for production and maintenance roles. No candidate report and no Boeing page mentions any of them, and the only authority one of those pages cites is its own in-house test developer. One of them carries its own disclaimer that it is "not affiliated with Boeing". Treat every one of those claims as unverified. If you are applying to a production, maintenance or technician role and your invitation names a test, that invitation is worth more than all of those pages put together.

No evidence of pymetrics, Arctic Shores, Aon, SHL or Criteria at Boeing

No evidence found

We searched specifically for each of those vendors alongside Boeing and found nothing Boeing-specific — only generic prep-site listings that name Boeing in passing without evidence. If you arrived here from a page about pymetrics games or Arctic Shores tasks expecting to prepare them for Boeing, nothing supports that.

Boeing UK runs a video interview and an engagement day — not an assessment centre

Official source

Boeing UK’s own wording, for both graduates and interns, is: "Our recruitment process includes online application, video interview and a virtual engagement day." The official program calendar likewise lists "Engagement Days: November - December" for the UK Graduate Rotation Programme. Prep sites that describe a Boeing "assessment centre" are using a word Boeing does not use, and none of them documents what the day contains. Note also that Boeing UK does not say whether its "video interview" is a recorded HireVue round or a live Teams call, and the tenant is not region-attributed, so the UK format is genuinely open.

The panel, in Boeing’s own words

Official source

Boeing’s guide states: "During your interviews, you’ll meet with an interview team or panel of two to four people. These will be Boeing employees or partners and may also include a subject matter expert, a hiring leader or a customer." Questions are experience-based and candidates are given time to ask their own. Boeing names Microsoft Teams as its video conference platform in the guide; its separate virtual interview tips page names WebEx, so check your invitation for which one you are joining.

Skills demonstrations are announced in advance

Official source

Boeing’s guide: "We may ask you to demonstrate your skills using case studies, coding challenges, presentations and other skills demonstrations. Your recruiter will advise you prior to your interview if any of these will be present." Case studies present "a hypothetical job-related problem... along with supporting data" and ask you to "analyze the problem, draw conclusions and make recommendations". Candidates are told not to share proprietary or confidential work samples — worth remembering if your best example comes from a defense or cleared project.

Eligibility can matter more than the assessment

Official source

Live US postings state drug screening upon offer, that US citizenship may be required for security clearance positions, and that US Person status is required under export control rules (22 C.F.R. § 120.15). Boeing does not sponsor employment visas for its US internship program. Boeing UK notes most programmes require security vetting and offers no visa sponsorship either. For defense roles, clearance processing is also the main reason a Boeing process stretches well beyond the typical few weeks.

What happens in the Boeing hiring process?

The US early-careers path, stage by stage

The largest Boeing pipeline, and the one where the recorded round is most consistently reported.

  1. 1Apply at jobs.boeing.com through a Careers at Boeing account — Boeing says interviews and offers are not extended without a profile and a submitted application, and your status is tracked in that account.
  2. 2If the role requires a standardized assessment, Boeing says you will be informed. Many roles require none; nothing on Boeing’s site tells you in advance which do.
  3. 3For early-career and high-volume requisitions, candidates report a recorded one-way video round arriving as an emailed link, with roughly five behavioral and situational questions.
  4. 4For entry-level software roles, one report describes an online assessment of one basic coding question plus two recorded video questions, including a recorded explanation of the solution.
  5. 5A recruiter or phone screen of roughly 15 to 30 minutes covering background, degree alignment, eligibility and motivation.
  6. 6A panel interview with two to four Boeing employees or partners, possibly including a subject matter expert, hiring leader or customer, over Microsoft Teams or in person.
  7. 7Where the role calls for it, a recruiter-announced skills demonstration: a case study, a coding challenge in a virtual playground or whiteboard, or a presentation.
  8. 8Offer, then background check, drug screen and — for defense roles — security clearance processing, which is the stage that stretches the timeline.

The UK path: Boeing’s own three-stage wording

The UK is the one region where Boeing publishes its stage list outright, and it does not match how prep sites describe it.

  1. 1Online application. UK graduate applications run September to October; apprenticeship external applications run December to March; internship applications run September to November for penultimate-year students, on three or 12-month placements.
  2. 2Video interview. Boeing UK confirms the stage exists but does not say whether it is recorded or live, and does not name a platform.
  3. 3Virtual engagement day — Boeing’s term, not "assessment centre". The official calendar lists Engagement Days in November and December for the graduate programme. What the day contains is not publicly documented, and no candidate account of it could be found.
  4. 4Offers in December for the graduate programme, with a start the following September. Apprenticeship interviews run February to May with offers March to June.
  5. 5Note throughout: no visa sponsorship, and most programmes require security vetting.

What the panel actually asks

Boeing publishes its question stems verbatim, which is rarer than it should be. Our researched interview-question page for Boeing goes deeper on the recorded round specifically.

  1. 1Boeing’s own published stems: "Tell me about a time when...", "Give me an example of...", "Have you ever...", "Was there an instance where you’ve had to...", "Describe your experience with...".
  2. 2Direct knowledge questions about your skills. Boeing’s own worked example: "There are many project management software programs. Which do you like and why?"
  3. 3STAR-structured answers throughout — Boeing’s guide mentions STAR 22 times and walks through Situation, Task, Action, Results with a worked example. Answer in that shape by default.
  4. 4Deep dives into the projects on your resume and the trade-offs you made, which is where the panel’s subject matter expert usually comes in.
  5. 5Values-shaped behavioral themes: safety and quality, speaking up about something unsafe or unethical, integrity and trust, people focus and teamwork, ownership of an outcome, innovation, and handling failure or criticism. Boeing announced five values in April 2025 — safety and quality, people focus, trust, ownership, innovation — and behavioral questions are widely reported to map to them.
  6. 6Your own questions for the panel. Boeing states it gives candidates time to ask them, so have three ready that a two-to-four person panel can actually answer.
  7. 7For the recorded round specifically, reported themes are: your skills and fit for the role, a time you faced adversity, a tight deadline, working with someone difficult, using logic to solve a problem, situational judgement prompts, and why Boeing and why aerospace.

Claims about Boeing you will find elsewhere, and what they are worth

Boeing attracts more unsourced assessment content than almost any employer we have researched. Here is the short version.

  1. 1"Boeing uses two to three HireVue games." No page making this claim names a single game, and the largest calls them "proprietary". Unsupported.
  2. 2"Boeing runs an assessment centre." Boeing UK’s own word is "virtual engagement day", and the official calendar says "Engagement Days". The site making the assessment-centre claim carries a disclaimer that it is not affiliated with Boeing.
  3. 3"Boeing uses Ramsay mechanical tests and NOCTI." Prep-site-only, with the sole cited authority being one prep site’s in-house test developer. No candidate and no Boeing page mentions either.
  4. 4"The mechanical test is 36 questions in 20 minutes." Same single prep site. Do not plan around that spec.
  5. 5"Boeing India hires through HireVue." The only primary account is a 2022 cycle describing an offline, on-campus aptitude test and an in-person five-person panel, with no video assessment at all.
  6. 6Where a source names a platform Boeing does not name, treat it as reported. Where it names a test nobody has sat, treat it as marketing.

When is the Boeing assessment?

Boeing has no single global calendar. Internship windows are published by region, the entry-level rotational programs each publish their own application, interview and offer months, and individual requisitions carry their own closing dates and close when filled. Everything below was checked on 11 September 2026.

CycleApplication datesLikely assessment windowEvidence
US internships — main fall wavePer requisition; roles close when filledAfter application, where the role requires one; the recorded round arrives by emailOfficial source

Boeing’s official internships page lists the US internship application window as August to October, with a smaller spring wave. Because requisitions close individually rather than on one date, applying early in the window is materially better than applying late. This is the region where the recorded round is most consistently reported.

Boeing lists a second, smaller US internship window in February and March. Fewer requisitions are posted in it than in the fall wave.

A live Boeing posting for the Summer 2027 Internship Program (Program Management, Arlington) states "Applications for this position will be accepted until Oct. 23, 2026", with the internship running 10-12 weeks during summer 2027 and requiring an anticipated graduation date on or after August 2027. Other requisitions carry their own dates — check each posting rather than assuming this one generalizes.

UK Graduate Rotation Programme (UKG)End of the September to October application windowVideo interview after application; Engagement Days November to DecemberOfficial source

Boeing’s entry-level calendar lists applications September to October, Engagement Days November to December, offers extended in December, and a programme start the following September. That makes the 2026-27 UK graduate cycle a fall 2026 application with a winter engagement day and a September 2027 start.

Australia internships and the AUSG graduate programmeInternships: first two weeks in July. AUSG: no published windowNot documentedOfficial source

Boeing lists Australian internship applications as opening in the first two weeks of July. The two-year Australia Graduate Programme has no fixed window at all — Boeing tells candidates to register interest on Prosple and wait to be notified when applications open, which means the practical deadline is registering early. The Australian stage sequence could not be verified; the candidate recruitment reviews that would document it were not readable.

End to end, once you have appliedn/an/aMultiple sources

Candidate reports put the full Boeing process at roughly three to six weeks, with individual accounts ranging from about two weeks to seven, and month-long waits after the recorded round are reported. Defense roles run considerably longer because of clearance processing. Silence after the recorded round is common and is not by itself a rejection.

How to practice for the Boeing assessment

Start by accepting how little is settled. Boeing tells you it will inform you if your role requires a standardized assessment, and tells you nothing else — no vendor, no test, no game. So the first move is not practice, it is reading your invitation email carefully and preparing for what it names rather than for what a prep site promised.

Then put your time where the evidence is. For early-career and high-volume US roles, that is recorded answers: roughly five behavioral and situational questions, delivered one-way, with a short preparation window and no chance to reconsider. For entry-level software roles, add basic string manipulation and a rehearsed spoken explanation of your own code, because the one detailed account of that assessment describes exactly those two things. For every role, prepare STAR examples, because Boeing’s own guide teaches STAR and its panel asks experience-based questions.

What not to do: do not spend your preparation hours drilling a HireVue game lineup for Boeing. No source names one. If your invitation turns out to list games, you will have lost nothing by having spent the time on recorded answers instead — and you can still open the practice routes that evening.

Step 1

Read the invitation before you prepare anything

Boeing’s FAQ makes the assessment conditional on the role and names nothing. The invitation email is the only document that tells you whether you are sitting anything, what it is called, how long you have, and on what platform. Everything else on the internet about Boeing assessments, this page included, is background.

Step 2

Rehearse recorded answers as a distinct skill

A one-way recorded round is not a conversation — no follow-ups, no reading the interviewer, a short preparation window and a hard stop. Record yourself answering the reported themes once before the real thing: your skills and fit, a time you faced adversity, a tight deadline, a difficult colleague, using logic to solve a problem, and why Boeing and why aerospace. Our researched Boeing interview-question page and mock interview cover this round specifically.

Step 3

Build STAR examples against Boeing’s values

Boeing’s guide teaches Situation, Task, Action, Results with a worked example, and its published stems are all experience-based. Prepare examples that land on safety and quality, speaking up about something unsafe or unethical, integrity, teamwork, ownership of an outcome, innovation, and a failure you learned from. Aerospace behavioral questions lean unusually hard on the safety and speaking-up themes — do not improvise those.

Step 4

Technical roles: basic coding plus a spoken walkthrough

The one detailed account of Boeing’s entry-level software assessment describes a single basic string-manipulation question — find duplicate characters, reverse a string — followed by a recorded video explaining the solution. Practice explaining your approach out loud in under two minutes; the explanation is scored as much as the code. Boeing’s guide separately says coding challenges may be delivered in a virtual playground or whiteboard, announced by your recruiter in advance.

Step 5

Prepare the case study if your recruiter flags one

Boeing’s case studies present a hypothetical job-related problem with supporting data and ask you to analyze it, draw conclusions and make recommendations. Practice structuring a view from a data pack and defending it. Note Boeing’s own instruction not to share proprietary or confidential work samples in any presentation — relevant if your strongest material is from cleared or defense work.

Step 6

Plan for the panel, not for one interviewer

Two to four people, potentially including a subject matter expert, a hiring leader and a customer. Address answers to the whole panel, expect the technical follow-ups to come from one specific person, and bring questions that a mixed panel can each answer. Check whether your invitation says Microsoft Teams or WebEx — Boeing names both in different places — and test it the day before.

Step 7

Check your eligibility early, not at offer stage

Many US Boeing roles require US Person status under export control (22 C.F.R. § 120.15) and some require US citizenship for clearance; there is no visa sponsorship for the internship program. Boeing UK offers no sponsorship and requires security vetting for most programmes. This screens out more applicants than any assessment does, and it is worth confirming before you invest weeks in the process.

Step 8

Expect the wait, and apply early in the window

Three to six weeks end to end is typical, longer for cleared roles, and month-long silences after the recorded round are normal rather than a bad sign. Because US requisitions close when filled rather than on a fixed date, the applications that get looked at are the early ones in the August-to-October window.

Boeing assessment FAQ

Does Boeing use HireVue?

Yes — Boeing operates a live, branded HireVue tenant at boeing.hirevue.com (we fetched it directly: HTTP 200, HireVue account id 202051, Boeing theme and logo), and multiple independent candidate reports describe a recorded HireVue round. But Boeing’s own careers pages never name a vendor, and its FAQ says only that you will be informed if your position requires a standardized assessment. So the round is role-dependent, not universal, and it is most consistently reported on early-career and high-volume requisitions.

Does Boeing use game-based assessments?

Not on any evidence we could find. Boeing has not been confirmed to use HireVue’s game-based assessments. Candidate reports describe a recorded video round and, for technical roles, a coding task — not games. The prep sites advertising "Boeing game assessments" name no game titles and cite no candidates; the largest one excuses itself by calling the games "proprietary". We are not publishing a Boeing game lineup because no source supports one.

Does every Boeing applicant take an assessment?

No. Boeing’s FAQ states: "You will be informed if the position you applied for requires a standardized assessment." The word "if" is Boeing’s. Many roles require nothing, and Boeing’s own 13-page Interview Preparation Guide describes only live panel interviews and recruiter-announced skills demonstrations — a full-text search of it returns zero hits for HireVue, recorded, on-demand or game.

What is in the Boeing video interview?

Candidates report roughly five behavioral and situational questions, recorded one-way, with a short preparation window and a few minutes per answer. Reported themes: your skills and fit, a time you faced adversity, a tight deadline, working with someone difficult, using logic to solve a problem, situational judgement prompts, and why Boeing and why aerospace. Our researched Boeing interview-question page at /hirevue/questions/boeing goes through them in detail.

What does the Boeing software engineering online assessment involve?

The one detailed first-hand account describes "1 coding question and 2 video questions" — a video about yourself and fit, a basic string parsing or manipulation problem such as finding duplicate characters or reversing a string, and then a recorded video explaining your solution. That account does not name the platform. Boeing’s own guide separately confirms coding challenges can appear, delivered through a "virtual playground" or "whiteboard", with your recruiter telling you in advance.

Does Boeing run an assessment centre in the UK?

Boeing UK calls it a virtual engagement day, not an assessment centre. Its own wording is: "Our recruitment process includes online application, video interview and a virtual engagement day", and the official programme calendar lists Engagement Days in November and December. What the day contains is not publicly documented — no candidate account of it could be found — and Boeing does not say whether the UK video interview is recorded or live.

How long does the Boeing hiring process take?

Roughly three to six weeks end to end on aggregated candidate reports, with individual accounts ranging from about two weeks to seven. Month-long waits after the recorded round are commonly reported and are not by themselves a rejection. Defense roles take substantially longer because of security clearance processing.

Do prep sites correctly describe Boeing’s aptitude and mechanical tests?

We could not verify any of it. Claims about Ramsay mechanical tests, NOCTI, situational judgement batteries and a "36 questions in 20 minutes" mechanical test appear only on prep sites, one of which cites its own in-house test developer as its sole authority and another of which carries a disclaimer that it is not affiliated with Boeing. No candidate report and no Boeing page mentions any of them. If your invitation names a test, believe the invitation.

Is Boeing India’s process the same?

There is no evidence that it is. The only primary account of Boeing India campus hiring we could read describes a 2022 cycle: an offline, on-campus aptitude test of 20 multiple-choice questions, no coding for the internship route and one coding question for full-time, then an in-person panel of five interviewers on resume projects and OOP fundamentals. No video assessment and no games. Whether that still holds in 2026 is unverified.

Game Assessment Prep is independent and is not affiliated with Boeing or HireVue. Employer processes can change by program, role, country, and recruiting cycle. Follow your invitation over this guide. Claims were reviewed against the linked employer, vendor, and candidate sources in July 2026 and labeled by evidence strength.
