HESI A2 timing, navigation and retakes

There is no single universal duration

Subject requirements and timing differ by institution. For example, Tarrant County College publishes a five-hour appointment. Other programs use different totals and pacing arrangements. Our section times are practice presets; use your program’s instructions to configure an overall rehearsal clock.

Treat submission as final

Alvin College’s guidance says candidates cannot revisit a submitted question. Our rehearsals therefore lock each answer when you submit it and keep explanations until the end. Check your work before continuing.

The HESI NG student guide allows switching between unfinished topics. Its timer and recovery rules depend on the testing situation. Our section or overall clock is always labeled as practice timing; it does not reproduce every school’s proctor settings.

Do not assume a standard retake policy

Schools control waiting periods, attempt limits and the scores they accept. Tarrant County College, for example, publishes a 60-day interval and one test per application period. That rule is an example, not a general HESI rule. Check the policy before scheduling another attempt.

Review before repeating

• Separate knowledge mistakes from misreading, arithmetic and pacing mistakes.
• Use a short drill for the weak skill, then a fresh section to check improvement.
• Keep your final rehearsal close to your actual subject list and time allowance.
