Prepare for the exam your program accepts
HESI A2 and ATI TEAS are separate admissions assessments. They are also different from HESI Exit exams and NCLEX licensure testing. Do not assume one admissions test can substitute for another.
HESI A2 is modular
HESI preparation should follow the required subject list. Vocabulary and grammar are separate subjects, and schools choose whether to require particular sciences or optional assessments. Timing and accepted retakes also vary.
TEAS has four fixed sections
ATI TEAS 7 runs Reading, Mathematics, Science, then English and Language Usage. Its 170 questions have 209 minutes of standard answering time. You can revisit questions in the current section, but not after submitting that section.
Reuse foundations, then practice the right format
Arithmetic, passage evidence, sentence structure and basic science are useful foundations for both exams. After reviewing them, switch to the specific test’s question formats, navigation and required subjects. A score on one practice product is not a conversion to the other exam.
