Prepare for UCAT Situational Judgement

The standard section has 69 questions in 26 minutes, after a separate 90-second instruction screen. Questions ask you to rate the appropriateness of actions, rate the importance of considerations, or choose the most and least appropriate actions from three options. Medical or procedural knowledge is not required.

Each drill has three original scenarios and nine questions, including both rating formats and a most/least question. Full practice has 69 questions across 24 scenarios with a running clock. The topic groups and question mix are our practice design.

No. Results show exact matches to our original editorial answers, nearby ratings, topic breakdowns and timing. The official UK SJT uses Bands 1–4 and awards partial credit for some close responses, but our questions are not calibrated to its scoring model. We do not convert practice results to an official band or admissions prediction. Our practice goals are demanding editorial targets.

Yes. Judge each proposed action or consideration on its own in the given scenario. A rating may be used more than once or not at all; you do not need to use all four ratings. Most/least questions are different: compare the three actions and select two distinct choices.

No. An action can be very appropriate when it directly and effectively addresses an aspect of the situation. Do not downgrade it simply because it does not provide a complete plan. Read what the action actually does and whether any stated limitation makes it less suitable.

In a short drill, complete and submit the whole scenario before seeing its explanations. This prevents one explanation from revealing another answer in the same scenario. Full timed practice keeps feedback hidden until you submit or time runs out. You can then review every original question and your saved choices.

During full practice, yes. Move between questions, flag items and revisit incomplete answers while time remains. For most/least questions, select both choices to complete the question. The timer continues while you use the navigator or leave the page. Answers are final when you submit or the timer expires.

Full practice offers 26 minutes, 32 minutes 30 seconds, 34 minutes 40 seconds, or 39 minutes, each with separate 90-second instructions. These answer-time settings help you practice with your chosen or approved timing. They do not grant official eligibility or simulate pause-the-clock rest breaks. Short drills are untimed.

The original judgement scenarios can help with the same types of reasoning, but official UK and ANZ score reporting differs. Our results are practice agreement, not a UK band or an ANZ scaled score. Check your own UCAT organization for current arrangements and official preparation.
