NCLEX-RN practice test

NCLEX-RN maximum-length practice exam (150 items)

150 items · 5 hours · 3 case studies · Score by category

The longest sitting the real exam can run: three case studies plus 132 stand-alone items weighted to the test plan, in the full five hours. Scored the NCSBN way, with a rationale for every option and a report by client-needs category and case study that points you to the drill for your weakest area.

Before you start

  • As on the real exam, you answer one item at a time and cannot go back. The clock keeps running in background tabs and reloads; when time runs out, your answers are submitted.
  • Three case studies appear during the exam, six items each, with the client’s chart tabs beside every item. New information is added as the case unfolds.
  • Select-all-that-apply items earn +1 for each correct option and −1 for each incorrect option, never below zero. Multiple-choice items are scored 0 or 1.
  • This is the longest sitting the real exam can run, 150 items in the full five hours. Plan your two optional breaks the way the real exam offers them: after two hours and after three and a half hours.
