NCLEX-RN practice exam (85 items)

85 items · 2 h 50 min · 3 case studies · Score by category

The minimum-length NCLEX-RN: three unfolding case studies (18 items) plus 67 stand-alone items weighted to the 2026 test plan, in 2 hours 50 minutes. Scored the NCSBN way, with a rationale for every option and a report by client-needs category and case study that points you to the drill for your weakest area.

Before you start

  • As on the real exam, you answer one item at a time and cannot go back. The clock keeps running in background tabs and reloads; when time runs out, your answers are submitted.
  • Three case studies appear during the exam, six items each, with the client’s chart tabs beside every item. New information is added as the case unfolds.
  • Select-all-that-apply items earn +1 for each correct option and −1 for each incorrect option, never below zero. Multiple-choice items are scored 0 or 1.
  • The real exam is adaptive and runs from 85 to 150 items in five hours; this sitting is the minimum length at the real exam’s pace of two minutes per item.
