A store reduces an $80 jacket by 25%, then applies a coupon for 10% off the reduced price.

What is the final price before tax?
  1. A.$52
  2. B.$54
  3. C.$56
  4. D.$60

Answer: B. After the first discount: $80 × 0.75 = $60. The coupon then gives $60 × 0.90 = $54. The discounts apply to different starting amounts.

Mathematics drills

Eight questions at your own pace. Practice one skill, review explanations and return to the method when an answer surprises you. Accounts with a free first attempt can try each drill once.

Full mathematics practice

Complete the subject before viewing answers and explanations. Confirm each answer to move forward; confirmed answers stay locked. Both practices are untimed.

One TSIA2 pass includes these practices, all short-drill replays and the essay workspace. Your college’s official testing path depends on its requirements and your official results.

Learn before your next attempt

Read a worked example, explain the steps in your own words and practice the matching skill on new questions.

Calculator rules

Some questions allow an on-screen calculator; others do not. The tool offered depends on the question. Practice choosing a method before reaching for the calculator.

Understand the tools

Original fixed-blueprint practice, not the official computer-adaptive TSIA2. Raw practice results do not convert to official scale scores or a college-readiness decision.
