SHL Inductive practice

Find the rules connecting each pattern, then build the missing figure or complete a sequence. Start with a short learning session or practice against an 18-minute clock.

Choose your sitting

Before you start

  • Check every example before choosing a rule. Look for changes in position, number, direction, and combinations of features.
  • Complete the figure or sequence using the controls, then select Submit answer. Only submitted answers count.
  • In learning practice, you move forward only. Skip question records no answer and cannot be undone.
  • There is no time limit. After each answer, study the original pattern and the worked explanation, then select Continue.

These original interactive exercises use fixed editorial sequencing. They do not reproduce SHL’s adaptive algorithm or claim the same questions or calibrated difficulty.

Build the next figure

Read the figures in numbered order. Token A is the same token in every figure. Work out what changes, then construct the next figure.

Letters identify the same tokens from one figure to the next. They are not answer choices. Position numbers run clockwise from 1 at the top. “Outline” means an unfilled shape; “solid” means a filled shape.

Connect the remaining nodes

The first three nodes are already connected. Find the relationship between their labels, then continue the path through each remaining node once.

Continue from the fixed starting nodes. Connect each remaining node once in the order that follows the rule.

Complete the path that starts B2 → D5 → F8.
